SO is beaches and cream a DDP restaruant?? Ok my main reason for asking is the sundaes..are those a desert choice on the DDP??? :lovestruc I am hopin you say yes...even though I will gladly pay OOP to try the no way jose!! lol

Yes it is, and yes the ice cream is included as your dessert. It would not be included as a "snack"

But the cost of the entree's make it a pretty bad use of a dining option, because most everything is under $10.00.

This location is a TS and not a CS.

We may just pay oop here and go for an afternoon snack then, I agree, I wouldnt want to use a TS credit here.

This is so often stated but really misleading. Beaches and Cream is a fine use of a TS credit if its a meal you want:

Chicken sandwich $10.49
No Way Jose sundae $7.99
Beverage $2.29

Total with Taxes: $22.12 ($20.52 if you get the $8.99 Cheeseburger)

Crystal Palace Breakfast: $20.22

Anytime you spend OOP its extra money for the Mouse. If you have more TS meals booked than you have credits for, then yes consider this for an OOP meal. But don't book an extra meal because it seems a waste to pay OOP for B&C. A family could easily spend $50 at B&C and oh wouldn't the Mouse love that!

Your right - that is a great way to look at it. I never really thought of it that way.

I think each family has to look at their situation and what they want and make sure they are using the credits to save them the most money. If they they end up having to pay OOP for a more expensive meal when all they wanted is the dessert, then it wouldn't have been a good use. It all comes down to what your doing for the time your there. You have to weight each use to how you eat :)

My husband and I just returned from Disney on May 11. We ate at Beaches and Cream because it was a place I had read about and really wanted to try. My husband had a burger and fries and I had a chicken sandwich with fries and we both ordered onion rings as a appetizer (we were on the DXDP). Had I realized the portion size of the onion rings we would have only gotten 1 order. We also left room for ice cream. Great sundaes and desserts. So glad we went. The bill came to 50.00 for the 2 of us so I think thats a great use of a table service.:yay:

I think I saw on another thread that B&C doesn't take ADRs - is that correct? Is it just slammed with people during the free dining period then, or can you get in with not much of a wait?

True that they do not take ADR's. The wait is long and crazy during traditional dining hours, since it is a very small place as well. I'd suggest walking over on an Epcot day or taking the boat over on a HS day at a non traditional eating time if this is something you really want to do.

The place is very very small.Only a few booths, tables and the counter. The waits are long all year( not just during free dining). Your best bet is to go at opening ,11am.Or like 2-3pm. Dinner times are busy and after 9p when Epcot closes it is packed. Waits over an hour are not unheard of at times.

We just returned on Sunday from a 2 week stay at the BCV and I sadly have to say, we never ate once at B&C. Not from lack of trying. It's just that everytime we stopped by -- generally in the afternoon into evening, the wait was always long. One night around 5:00PM the wait was 45 minutes and we are a party of 2 that was willing to sit at the counter. We finally just gave up trying after getting turned away several more times of 30-40 minute waits. It can only be worse during free dining. We will be back at the BCV August 16-21, so if we want to eat there we will have to try for 4:00 or earlier as I doubt we will be very successful getting in. (we are not on the free dining, just chose a bad week it seems.)

This is what I am afraid of. My DD really wants to go here, but I don't want to waste alot of time waiting to get in.

Thanks for all the replies....I was thinking we could go over to take a break from the parks, (plus that No Way Jose had my family's name on it :rotfl:), but maybe better to skip it unless we are ready to leave the park for the day and don't mind waiting then.

Ghiradelli's has better sundaes anyway.

We've been to BC the last 3 times....

I personally *IMHO* have other places I'd rather 'burn' a TS on than getting a cheeseburger or chicken sandwich.... (Like ...go to Cape May Cafe....):thumbsup2

But that being said...on our last visit...there was a very small "Snack" option at B & C.

Single serve cone, etc.

very limited...but an option....if it's still available....

I've often dreamed of paying oop for a Kitchen SInk...but after eating on DDP - we never are hungry enough for more! :woohoo:

Hugs,
Mary

What about the Kitchen Sink? Can this be used on the DDP??? Someone told me they used 4 snack credits to purchase one...does anyone know if this is true? If not...can 4 of us use our desserts to get this???? My dd really wants to try and eat this as a family!!!

I hope you are right...

However I find this hard to believe when 1 "scoop" equals a snack credit...that would equate a "Kitchen Sink" to much more than four...

But let's hope someone jumps on here and proves me wrong....

Which will cause me some transportation effort...since I have promised myself that we will stay at AKL next time.....We LOVE BC but need a bit of change.... :rotfl:

I've never heard of anyone or any 4 people using snack credits to get the Kitchen Sink.

What I have heard of is 4 people dining at B&C and using the dessert portion of their 4 TS credits to get the Kitchen Sink. IOW, it required all 4 of their dessert options combined to order it. B&C's snack menu at the pick-up window is very limited and the Kitchen Sink is not on that menu.

Up until now the OFFICIAL ruling was that the Kitchen Sink was ineligible on the DIning plan.It costs $21.99 plus tax. There was 1 poster that said the restuarant allowed each member of their 4 person party to use it towards dessert. THIS was the ONLY time we have heard this. Most times Beaches and Cream is real strict with the dining plan including they don't let you share meals there if you are on the DP.Snack items ( there are very few) are available at the Beaches and Cream take out window. The window only has ice cream bars or drinks. No fancy sundaes, food, or kitchen sink.

Also, a snack at the carry out is ONE scoop in a cone or cup. We were there last week and some in our group used snack credits at the walk up window.

I think that it might be possible to get the KS with 4 desert entitlements if there are 4 people using their TS inside. But no confirmation on this since most folks don't use their TS credits here.

All reports have been "no" except for two: we had a poster who reported that their party was able to pool their DDP dessert (NOT snack credits. Snack credits cannot be used at TS restaurants for anything. You may be able to use snack creds for drinks or a small ice cream at the B&C carryout, but not in the restaurant) and get the sink. We had one other poster who said the Sink as a pooled dessert was offered to their party, but it had to be ordered by at least 4 DDP adults and one of their party of 4 was a child, so they were unable to do it.
