Beach club vs poly

My favorite is YC and BC.....what is the price difference? I can't imagine it's that much more for Poly? Anyway, swimming can be iffy in February, so just go with your gut. Which one do YOU really want? (and basically, which one is the better location for this trip).

My family prefers the BW area and YC or BC because you are close to 2 parks, as well as can easily walk to several resorts. They really wanted to stay at Poly and we did one year over marathon weekend and it wasn't for us. The lobby was always so crowded and the line for the monorail was always long. The bus took forever (there was construction going on at the time, so that was part of the issue).

We also stay at the Dolphin or Swan frequently to save a little bit of $. You may be able to find a bit of discount through Priceline.

We just got back from Poly...loved the hotel, love the staff and love the location, but they are tremendously understaffed currently. Not sure how it will be in Feb, but I sure hope they are able to get more people to help the already over worked staff. It is kind of to the point where it does effect your trip....so with that said I would say Beach club currently hands down.

Tentative plan for mid February …hubby/myself/13 yo boy and 9 yo girl

Last trip was 2018…we love to rope drop a park and then go back to rest and then dinner/drinks at Epcot.

my agent found a cancellation at poly vs beach club. My kids won’t sleep together so we need a pull down bed. Having such sticker shock but close to a park is key. We’ve done boardwalk, poly, wilderness lodge ( my fave but they got rid of the bunks), I’ve also done short trips at Carribean beach, and riverside and akl for race weekends.

anyway I can’t decide which one to pull the trigger .hubby is stressed about the money ( we can definitely afford this but still it’s a lot) but I need to plan some happy . I’m in health care So enough said on needing something to look forward to.

BEACH CLUB....hands down.

Walk to 2 parks and 5 hotels + sky liner to 3 more. Epcot is open later then any other park...so most days you will end up there at night. Nice to have a short walk back to your room.

Plus the pool at BEACH CLUB is 100x better then poly.

Just wanted to chime in and say we had the same dilemma. We have stayed many times at the Beach Club and absolutely love it. You can't beat how easy it is to get to Epcot and the Studios and Boardwalk. We love to swim and Stormalong Bay is just so much fun. That said, we never spend much time at Magic Kingdom and have always wanted to try the Poly. So next June we are spending 3 nights at the Poly and finishing out the week at the Beach Club. It will be fun to compare the two. Looking forward to hearing which one your family likes best. Have a great trip!

We’ve done both and prefer beach club. I don’t think the Poly lived up to the hype for us. We found the pool to be small and boring. We love the Epcot resort vibe. SAB is amazing. It’s usually a bit cheaper than poly too. I would do BC!

IIRC they completely re-did the pool at Poly 5-10 years ago. It seems like more people have been underwhelmed by the Poly pool since then. The first 5 years or so I was on these boards everyone raved about the volcano pool at the Poly.
