Hi all,

I am planning to use the 7 for 4 deal and have it narrowed down to CBR or the Beach Club. Our group is a couple in our mid thirtys and our two year old. Also we were not planning on renting a car and would like to go back to our resort in the early afternoon each day for a nap and swimming. The cost for the Beach Club is $600 more than CBR. I have been trying to decide if it is worth the extra money.

Beach Club close to Epcot and MGM
Beach Club has a great pool
Bus to MK only 10 minutes? Is this less than CBR?
Beach Club is a luxury resort - What would I get that I would not get at CBR?

Is this worth $600? Am I missing something.

CBR we love the theming.
Pool still looks very nice.
$600 would go along way for food and we could get a babysitter one night.
Are the buses real crowded though? I can not wait forever for a bus with a very tired two year old.

Thanks for your help!

We stayed @ BCV last year (rented points), we loved it. YC, BC & BCV all have balconies as well, this way, when you put your child to bed you can have some quiet time to yourselves out on there. DH & I don't even consider staying somewhere without a balcony anymore. Stormalong Bay is also really great, they have a big kiddie pool section, sand play area & a sand bottom pool. We just loved it. We're staying @ the Poly this year, but are afraid that we'll miss all the BC area has to offer. So, I vote Beach Club!!!:sunny:

You are comparing a deluxe to a moderate which makes it difficult. At the BC, you can easily walk to Epcot or take the boat to MGM. You have a lot of food options around the Boardwalk and Storm-a-Long Bay is a LOT better that the pool at CBR (which is pretty small and often crowded).
With a two year old have you considered the CR or WL? Those offer easier access to MK and are both deluxes.

I guess my simple question is what makes a deluxe resort better than a moderate.

Better service?
Better location? etc.

Also are there balconies at any of the moderates? I think it would be really nice to have a balcony.

Also I thought that some of the room at the beach club do not have real balconies. Do I request a real balcony with my reservation? Will it cost extra?

better location,
much much better pool,
fancier rooms, not sure bigger, about the same
boardwalk has lots of pluses for eating,

another difference -- you enter from the outside/outdoors
at mod's and from an interior corrider on deluxes, a big plus
in my book!

it would be worth $600 in my book, but that is me.
the lazy river at the pool and the kiddie play area pool sound
perfect for your two year old.

then again, how much time will you spend at the resort?
that is how you should decide if the money is well spent.

mbuck,

I have stayed at both with a 2yr old.

I get them impression from your post that you should stay at CBR and use the $600 for other things.

There is a kiddy pool right next to the main pool at CBR which you will probably be spending more time in with your kids.

The food court at CBR will give you a varity of different foods. BC has no food court.

With a 2yr old, MK was the park of choice. Walking to/from Epcot was not something we did much - especially with a cranky toddler when we stayed at BC.

CBR was great. I would try to get a room close to the food court. I think you will be happy with CBR and saving your 600 bucks.

One other thing about BC that I'd like to include contrary to what KristiKelly said, not all rooms at BC have balconies, and some of the rooms that do have very tiny balconies.

If you wanted a deluxe in the Epcot resort area where you're guaranteed a balcony then YC would be your choice. It does sound, however, that you are hedging toward the thinking that your resort isn't the single most important thing on your list.

I would then say you may want to think about CBR, and then use some of your saved money to rent a car. You can probably get a very reasonable rate and that way you won't be waiting around for a bus.

One other suggestion might be CSR. It is a moderate as well, and it does get very good reviews by a lot of the members here.

The way I look at it, if you have to rationalize spending the extra money, don't.

I'm a big fan of BC, and on our last trip visited some of the mods to get an idea of what I would be in for if we opted for one of them... I just didn't get the same sense of pampering that I get at BC. I can't even begin to IMAGINE staying at CBR - too big and spread out!

The pool at BC can't be beat, and neither can the location. Not only were we able to walk to EPCOT and boat to MGM, but in the afternoon I really enjoyed taking the monorail from MK to EPCOT and walking through... it was during the Food and Wine festival tho!

We're giving AKL a try in a week, but I have a feeling we'll be back at BC in October.

IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH CASH, GO WITH THE BEACH CLUB, ITS SO GREAT!
