Beach Club Villas - Small rooms/bad views?

I am planning a September 2014 trip with my husband, parents, two boys 4 and 7 yrs old. I was researching the BCV and I found people saying the vill rooms are small and there are poor views - they said if you're paying that much for villas, there are better resorts to stay at.

I'm torn because I know we will be spending a lot of time at the resort due to my kids ages and probably daily afternoon naps. I'm loving the Stormalong bay. My second choice would be Boardwalk Villas which I've stayed at twice, but the pool lacks and I don't think it would be the best choice with children. We would like to stay in that area due to the close proximity of Epcot.

Can anyone give me their opinions on the villa rooms there? We plan to get a 2 bedroom villa, although the pictures look like there won't be much room to sit for meals, and we will be eating in much of the time. Also, if people could give me their opinions on the views of the villas. *** What would be PERFECT, would be for someone to give me their comparison of staying in the BCV AND the BWV, if anyone has been lucky enough to stay at both!

Thanks so much!

We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa and really loved it. I thought we had a good view. We were on the 5th floor, smack in the middle of the resort (can't remember the exact number). Our room overlooked the quite pool. As a surprise one night after dinner we walked in our room and saw the MK fireworks going off! I have nothing bad to say about that room. Also as far as eating...I think that you will have enough room. Not everyone will be able to sit at the same table. the four adults could eat at the table and the 2 kids could eat on the bar stools at the kitchen counter, which is right next to the table. I have never stayed at BWV but I'm sure if you ask this on the DVC pages, you will get more of a response.

DVC is our home resort. Are you getting a two bedroom ?

If you want alot of room in the living area BLT is great. But we would rather have storm along bay and walking distance to epcot for dinner and fireworks. We do the parks in the morning, pool in the afternoon and dinner at epcot or boardwalk. You might be able to see illuminations if your room faces epcot.

As far as views go if you get lucky and face the pool it is nice but the other views are facing the woods or parking lot.

Thank you for your responses! Yes we will be getting a 2 bedroom villa. I was also reading that some views are of the International Gateway..... anyone have views like that and what are they like? That is exactly our plan - parks in morning, naps/pool in afternoon and dinner either in room or in Epcot somewhere.....

I heard BLT were awesome, but we like the closeness of Epcot and the Boardwalk so we don't want to venture out anywhere else. I've also stayed at Old Key West and it was absolutely beautiful and the most spacious living spaces, just took FOREVER to get anywhere!

Can't provide a review, but according to floor plans Boardwalk has slightly larger 2 BRs (although I've also heard they're pretty much the same). I can offer a link to some pictures of room views. If you leave the settings on this page the same, and just scan down and hit "submit," you can see brief discussions of various Beach Club rooms along with some pictures (click on the pictures and you can see larger versions):

Same deal with Boardwalk:

None of the Beach Club rooms have terrific views, IMHO -- on one side you're overlooking a road, on the other the pool and the parking lot -- OTOH, some on the higher road side units you can see bits of Epcot structures along with some of the night time fireworks, which excites some people, while most of the pool view ones aren't bad if you like pools. I've heard some complaints about Woods view rooms and road noise; the pool side is usually quieter (since most people go to StormAlong Bay!).

I've also heard that about the International Gateway, and I've heard it's a myth or that it's true of the hotel but not the villas. :confused3 There are two roads, a canal, and a fair chunk of woods in between the two; even if technically you can see it from some places, doesn't look like it'd be much of a view! But I don't find most of the views from the Epcot units there too exciting, either, so I may not be a good judge of that sort of thing. I like the views of the Magic Kingdom across the parking lot from Bay Lake Tower better than the views of the top of Epcot buildings over the woods from the Beach Club, which when I write it down, doesn't even make sense to me. :upsidedow So look at the pics and see what you think, is my advice. :)

Some of the Boardwalk units have great views facing the Boardwalk, but they're a lot pricier, of course. Some of the village green units have a good view of the Boardwalk and the lake as well, and they're cheaper, but sadly all of the village green units are studios I believe.

we stayed at the boardwalk once. The room set up if I remember correctly was identical to the BCV. I dont think they were any roomier. Plus BCV pool is the best in Disney.

Thank you for all of your responses. I will definitely look at those pictures. I stayed at the Boardwalk Villas in 2009, and had a GORGEOUS view of the quiet pool and canal, and you could see the tower of terror lit up at night... it was so cool.

I understand what was said about views of Epcot versus views of MK. :rotfl: I am pretty sure we are going to stay at BCV just because of Stormalong Bay. With two little boys (4 and 7) I just can't see staying anywhere else! I am going to try hard to get a quiet pool view like was suggested.... maybe on the 5th floor which I hear has better views..... Thank you for all of your wonderful input!

Shalom...... AWESOME links. Thank you very much - they are so helpful to me! There is a room finder which details what your view will be..... priceless and thank you!:goodvibes

We own DVC points at the Beach Club and bought there due to location. The views aren't great - I would guess a fair amount of rooms have nice quiet pool views and garden views. We usually end up on the side of the building "facing" Epcot - there are a ton of trees but you can see Spaceship earth peaking over and some of Canada/France. You can see parts of the fireworks. I've seen some people complaining of noise from the road but we've never had that problem.

In my opinion, you can't beat the location in terms of Epcot, DHS, and Boardwalk + swan and dolphin for good food. Plus Beaches and Cream is right there too.
