Just Booked 3 nights at the BCV in a 2-bedroom suite for end of August.

What rooms have the best view? Is it better to stay on the upper floors?
Do some rooms have better balconies than others?

Any information would be appreciated.
thanx.

Stayed there the past two years. Sorry, don't remember the room numbers, only that we were more than satisfied with our ground floor rooms. Usually we are "upper floor" people, preferring that over a ground floor unit. However, there's alot to be said for walking out of your balcony, thru a little landscaping, (very little), right to to pool and hot tub instead of going down the hall and out the main exit. Of course, both of our units were on the pool view side. I really don't think it matters, the resort is wonderful, and you should have a great time. The only thing that annoys us is the hall walk to get to your unit. We have been spoiled by the "walk right up to your front door from the parking lot" at Old Key West, which is where we're returning to this summer.

First let me say that I don't think there are any *great* views at BCV ...and there are no dumpster views either. Much of it is a matter of taste.

You could request....
Pool view - If you like to view the pool, but could have noise from the pool as well.

Epcot view - You get a view of the upper fireworks from the upper floors, but you view the backside of Epcot during the day and some sections a service road. I think the lower floors viewing the service road have the worst BCV location.

Courtyard view - View the courtyard between BC and BCV. There are a few on the first floor that I wouldn't want with lattice work around the patio.

Other requests... near main elevator, near self-parking lot

There are three types of 2 bedroom villas..
Dedicated 2 bedroom w/2 queens in the second bedroom - only a 25 of these!
Dedicated 2 bedroom w/queen and sleeper sofa
Lock-off 2 bedroom (combo 1 bedroom and studio)

HTH

Have a great trip. You'll love the 2 bdrm!

We were just in a one bedroom on the third floor. Smoking optional rooms are located on the fourth floor. Second and Fourth floors appear to have balconies that stretch from the master bedroom to the living room. With a two bedroom, it should stretch to the other bedroom as well. Our one bedroom only had a balcony that was as long as the living room. \

We prefer pool view, but the courtyard view is also pretty nice. There are two elevator banks in the building, one near the main lobby area and one near the end of the building near the pool. Plus you can park kind of near the villas on the pool end.

We were at the BCV a couple of years ago and had a studio. We had a great view of the ball and were on an upper(5th??) floor. It was the best view we ever had- it was great!!!

I will have a Studio villa at the Boardwalk in August...can't wait!

I would like to walk right out to the pool from my balcony but I have a feeling the Studio's don't have that.

There are certainly studios like that....minus the balcony as none of the first floor villas of any size have balconies.....just small patios. You should just request first floor, pool view putting whichever is more important to you first.

The problem with doing this is the patio is landscaped with shrubs, flowers, etc around the patio and you would be trampling through them to get to the pool. Plus you can't lock your patio door from the outside.

Last year we were on the back side of BCV facing Epcot but we were on the second floor and our view of Illumunations was obstructed. Go for the highest floor or first floor. But it was still cool watching Illuminations even from an obstructed view. That was the way my son enjoyed ending each night.

We were there the first week in June with a dedicated 2 br, on the 5th floor. I think our room number was 553 ( I hope that is right). It had a large balcony with a view of Epcot. We could see Illuminations from our balcony. It was a very nice room.

You can no longer request Epcot View at BCV because as DVC member we've been told the view no longer exists. Our speculation is that the Soarin' building blocks a lot of the view from BCV. Personally, I didn't like Epcot View because the noise from the service road bothered us at night, and we were on the 5th floor!!! I think the Pool view is the best view at BCV.

I agree about the service road. We were in a one-bedroom (1st floor - 171) facing this road. I read before we left that it really wasn't that noisy but when we got there that wasn't the case. The road is used alot and we were in front of the bridge so we heard tires bumping over the bridge joints all the time.

Some of the rooms only have grass in front of them. Actually quite a few to my memory unlike BC rooms.

We've been on the second and fifth floor on that side and I think all rooms have partially obstructed views. Or a wonderful partial view. ;) We've always enjoyed what we can see as abline did. :sunny:

As Lori said, at least through member services you can't request Epcot view anymore. Perhaps it is different if you are booking with DRC. But at any rate, if you want to be on that side of the building, member services will help you with the wording of your request. If you are dealing with DRC, I would request "woodlands view" if you want that side of the building which is my favorite. My husband likes both sides.

I've always wondered about that. On the higher floors I don't notice it unless I'm on the balcony. Were you able to hear it even in the room? I'm usually an early riser and have noticed a steady stream of what I think are CMs using that road early in the am. Hasn't bothered me in the room but I've wondered about first floor.

To the OP, as you can see everyone has different takes on BCV views. Whatever you request and whatever you receive, I hope you have an excellent stay. :cool1:

hmm...don't think i'd like to leave my room with the patio door unlocked....I mean, yes, you could just go in through the front door, but then that takes away from the convienence of just "walking right to the pool".

Thanmx for all your input everyone...

I know that there is the Epcot view & the pool view...Is there a third view where the 'Ariels Grotto' statue is situated. Ive heard this the best view, and its pretty quiet.

I've been swamped at work and have about 10-12 BCV reports to add but...
Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/beachclub.pdf
This will give you an idea of “sectional views”. It is extremely difficult to ask for a specific room (as well as trying on the CM’s). I have asked for between xxx-xxx

I have also created a sheet that just has some highlights of rooms that may not work for everyones needs. You might find that helpful instead:

The files arein adobe acrobat and which can be downloaded from this site for free:

Happy travels,
