Just spent 12 days in a 2 bedroom and 5 days in a regular room. Had a great time but not too inpressed with the stormalong bay pool maintainance. I noticed sand in the bottom of the pool. two weeks later they still hadn't cleaned it up.. All kidding aside a strange thing did happen. One day we came back to the room and found the toilet full of trash. We thought some one broke in but noticed new towels were left then realized the maids way of enptying the trash was through the plumbing and she forgot to flush it. Not just a little, it was 3/4 full. For years we've stayed at Marriott Cypress Harbour, this time we enjoyed Beach Club especially the location

Well.......was SAB warm?

Good lord what is wrong with Disney! I can't believe that they would just leave all that sand in the pool

It's a sand-bottom pool ;)

I think I am more shocked at you folks for not being more shocked about the trash in the toilet thing. Man I would be throwing a fit with management about that one.
Sand in the bottom of a pool doesn't bother me as much as that.

I have to admit that sand at the bottom of SAB doesn't bother me either.;)

I can't say I "would throw a fit" but a call to management would take care of it. Nothing surprsies me anymore when it comes to housekeeping.

I sure hope you reported it to HK and to the manager of BC.

Since this is a DVC forum I guess you stayed in a 2bed at the BCV and a room at BC. Right? If so which room had the trash in the toilet. :confused3 First thing I would have done was called HK and ask someone to come right up NOW before I flushed. If they didn't then I'd call for the Manager and make sure they saw it. This is totally unacceptable . :furious:

Also just remember if the sand is at the bottom of the pool :rotfl2: then it's not in your room :rotfl: People just seem to rinse off in the pool :rotfl2: before going back to the room. :rolleyes1

I always wondered why the toilets at BCV had the power of a small jet engine. Apparently, it's so they can suck down an empty box of corn flakes.

Your right they do have power. House keeping sent maintaince and he just flushed it to mysurprise, although I wouldn't of wanted to clean it out either. It did happen at the villas. The last days were at the hotel and the rooms were very nice. Didn't want to come home. Thanks to everyone helping me renting their points and the sand thing was a joke.

Glad you had a nice stay.

I am curious why did you chose to rent pts rather then pay cash for your stay?

Also the SAB pool is the best, we love it..........

We are marriott owners not dvc. and wantet to try the villas. We rented for the first 12 and paid cash for the room.

I assumed you were not DVC owners. I was just curious why the choice to book your room with rented points, rather then just paying cash to WDW for your stay. I assume you saved alot by using rented points vs cash?

I am kinda looking into Marriot, there is a marriot thread on the board.

Any commets you have about your marriot time share would be great.

take care.......

3B - any bet on the over / under for the points? The line has got to be $10, I'd say they paid $10 even.

I'm guessing their stay cost more on the cash side than the rented points side.....

I said it to Daitcher and I'll say it to you........ sell your BWV and buy BCV, resistance is futile. It's only a matter of :hourglass before you are locked out of SAB for good (or will you pool crash?). No more booking at 7 months out when the sky falls in the near future. ;)

Pool update

A statement has just been issued by DVC.

Due to the large number of complaints about the water temperature in the pools it has been decided to raise the temperature to 84 degrees. In order that this does not seriously impact dues other cost cutting measures have been put in place. From now on all trash will be emptied into the toilet and flushed when remembered. This will eliminate the need of hiring someone to carry the trash to the trash compactors. Thank you for your understanding....management.
