I want to splurge for my birthday this year and stay at an Epcot area resort.

The Yacht Club doesn't have and standard rooms available for my time frame so its out of my price range.

Please tell me your pros and cons for both the Beach Club and Boardwalk.

Thanks :goodvibes

I've stayed at both and don't think you can go wrong either way. I personally prefer Boardwalk over Beach Club just because it just feels a little more sophisticated and adult to me.

While Stormalong Bay is an awesome pool, it can be pretty crowded and loud. I like the theming and slightly lower decibel level at BW's pool. Plus the quiet pool at BW is really gorgeous. I also just love the hustle and bustle of the Boardwalk, it's such a unique resort experience.

Hope you have a great birthday trip! :thumbsup2

Pros of Beach club
-closer to Epcot
-more exits of the resort - BWI doesn't have any exits on the Boardwalk side, so depending on room location, there can be some long walks to get out of the resort. BC has the secret exit near the Epcot International Gateway.
-Marketplace-the closest thing to a counter service restaurant they have at an Epcot resort
-SAB - great pool

Pros of Boardwalk
-almost midway between Epcot and HS, making it an easy walk to HS
-the boardwalk itself, with restaurants and other fun
-the quiet pool is really nice and those rooms sometimes have a view of the highest Illuminations fireworks

Cons of BC
-nosier, often has a lot of kids staying there
-the main pool can be very crowded
-not all rooms have balconies

Cons of Boardwalk
-the potential for long walks to get to an elevator, depending on room location
-no good counter service option. The Bakery is the closest thing they have to counter service

The BWI is nice, but we prefer the BC since we love Epcot and don't spend a lot of time in HS.

Biggest con to BC is that half the rooms do not have balconies. This is a deal breaker for me. Two stays with no balcony cured me.

I've stayed at both quite a few times, and really like them both. If I planned on swimming, I would go with BC even though SAB is crowded. I like the lazy river. My past two trips have been stays at the Swan/Dolphin. I really liked them and their pool and pool bar are awesome.

My DH and I loved BW. Great location. Great service. We stayed at YC after, even with a great rate and view, and still love BW. How 'bout both?

Love the Y&BC, we just got back 5 weeks ago & are scheduled to go again in October (W&FF). Love the pool (best in WDW) access to great restaurants & an easy walk to EPCOT. We like BW as well, but we just prefer Y&BC 1st & them BW. ::yes::

I have stayed at the Yacht Club and the Boardwalk and while we liked the Yacht Club, we LOVED the Boardwalk! So far, it has been or favorite resort. There is something magical about the atmosphere there, we just adore it.:goodvibes

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Epcot Resorts, but I like YC/BC the best. We just stayed at BWI in June after having stayed at YC and BC on previous trips. I just didn't like the layout as well. It felt like a trek every time we left the building. All the up and down stairs to get to the BW area got tiresome, especially since we had utilized the shortcuts at BC/YC. No BWI shortcuts. This was a bigger deal for us, since we had a kid with us, so maybe not a dealbreaker for your trip. I also didn't like the main feature pool. It isn't big enough for the size of the resort and was always packed. It wasn't relaxing at all, compared to all the other deluxe pools we've been to. Balconies are not a big deal to us, so I would pick BC with kids, YC without. Maybe you could go ahead and book at BWI or BC and then waitlist YC? No matter where you stay, you can still use all the BW restaurants and stores. I LOVE Jellyrolls and that would be a fun birthday evening.

I'm a big fan of silent movies as well as fashion and music from the 1910s-40s, so I fell in love with BWI. There is old music playing in the background on the boardwalk, the Belle Vue Lounge broadcasts old radio shows from the 1930s and 40s, and there are tons of neat photos and antiques all around the resort. The rooms are beautiful, there are great chairs to sit on outside the lobby, and I loved all of energy and activity of people playing in the grass area behind the lobby. Oh, and the Boardwalk itself is loads of fun with entertainment and shopping. I love the theming of the resort and it has become my favorite place to stay on site.

BC is a great choice too. Rooms are crisp and clean, location is good, SAB is a lot of fun, etc. My main complaints are that I really don't like the lobby and the hallways all seem worn and cheapen the experience.

Ultimately, I don't think you'll go wrong either place. I love the Epcot resort area and have now stayed at every resort (including S/D). I'm hoping to get back to BWI as soon as possible
