Beach Club Neg. Reviews

Have to add one more thing....
We were on a two week road trip and had to do laundry twice at Beach Club. Their laundry facility was excellent. I put my laundry in early in the morning (high efficiency washer and dryer) .. got my coffee and went back to put in dryer... met fun people on the way. It was so easy.

Loved also walking to dinner at Epcot. One of the family's highlight and so easy.

We stayed at BC last summer and we are staying there again this summer. My two bits of advice:

1) if you have a problem with the room call Housekeeping NOT the "Front Desk."
2) It is a bustling happy place at almost all times. This is normal for this resort. Don't hate the resort for being exactly what it's supposed to be. Accept it and go with the flow. Hakuna Matata.

I love that!!!

Thanks for both pieces of helpful advice.

We'll be there in two weeks, and we couldn't be more excited! We stayed there for our honeymoon two years ago, and in our eyes, the folks at BC can do no wrong! Everyone there goes the extra mile to make us happy!

I have "secretly" booked my family an extra few nights at BC at the end of our Christmas trip. I struggled -(sorta still am)- to pick a deluxe, but went with BC, due mainly to the proximity to Epcot and MGM. We've been in the Lobby a few times and have enjoyed a couple of Cape May Character Breakfasts. Another factor in my choice is that, (the #1 son loves his characters), and I'm looking forward to our first character breakfast that won't have the early AM transportation issues to deal with....( don't get me started...;).....).
The bride and I have a dinner booked one night, and we will probably do at least one Epcot dinner, and hopefully take advantage of that easy walk!
I am still stoked about this trip, them Mousekeepers better be on their "A" game! ;)

I'm super picky about resorts and hotels, and I LOVE BC. I've been staying at BC for over 21 years, and our most recent stay was in October of last year. Each and every BC room I've stayed in has been in fine shape and extremely clean.

I was just on a review site and was surprised at how many neg. reviews that were posted for the BC. The majority of the reviews stated that it is dirty and gross and mousekeeping is horrible. I am set to go in just three weeks and have really went over budget for this trip. I am very nervous about my trip now as I had to really sell it to my DH. Anyone there recently that can share some insight on the state of the rooms? Also if it is really bad how hard is it to get moved somewhere anywhere else?

As others have said, you need to take reviews with a grain of salt. We have stayed at the BC the last couple of years and are returning again next month and again in October. We have never found our room to be dirty nor have we found the resort to be dirty or gross. But I will say that if I ever encountered a dirty room, I wouldn't hesitate to contact mousekeeping. The BC is our favorite resort so far. I wouldn't dwell on the negatives...go and have a great time BUT if you do encounter an issue, don't wait to write about it, take care of it while there.

Each resort has its own personality. Sort of like cities. I like to stay at a different one each time because it makes every trip down feel different. :) BC is a very whimsical upbeat place, it's charming and friendly. ::yes:: We had some pluses and minuses with our room condition there, but we have had issues at every resort on property from time to time. Mousekeeping can sometimes blow me away and other times frustrate me to no end. I always tell people, if your room is dirty or something isn't right you have to call immediately and have it taken care of. Don't wait until you get home because by then it has ruined your trip. Those who read my most recent trip report know we went thru quite an ordeal with mousekeeping recently, but the resort manager made it right and we left WDW feeling more in love than ever. :lovestruc A dirty toilet is never OK at any hotel. But as long as someone else comes to clean it then I'm happy!! :lmao:

Well, I won't be much help. We had a magical trip last year there...but this year, not so much. Mousekeeping wasn't great , and we had an incident where the stall door in the bathroom outside the quiet pool fell off its hinges ON my daughter due to poor maintenance and left her banged up...only to be told "we will let maintenance know" (no...not is she okay?)..I can't say for certain we will ever stay at BC again as a result. It just happened a few weeks ago, and I'm still pretty disgusted by it and how it was handled. :(

Who said that? A manager?

It's a little more complicated, but long story short...when we reported it initially (my dh did) that was the response. I was not happy and quite stunned that is all that was said. After helping my daughter ice and then soak her knee and wrist... I went to find a manager and voiced my concerns over it. I shudder to think if this happened to a smaller child. I did contact Disney guest relations and spoke with a CM and discussed my concerns as well over the 1)maintenance (how does a door come completely off it's hinges and fall on a child??) and 2)the lack of concern shown both initially and after I went to discuss it with a manager (there was no follow up as promised the next day).

All in all, it just left a sour taste in my mouth and since it happened so recently, mama bear hasn't gotten over it, and poor DD doesn't know if she wants to ever be there again.

We had a lovely stay there last year, but this year was very, very different...from that incident to he general daily mousekeeping we experienced. :(

When you went to find a manager did you find one?

This is not OK at any resort, park or otherwise. Nothing should fall onto anyone. My DD just had two major surgeries( arm and leg and oral surgery). Nothing better fall on her or hurt her in anyway.

We stayed at the BC a few years ago and had no problems with Mousekeeping. Just had problems with checkin and our room wasn't ready by 3p. Their computers were down and someone took my KTTW card and ran off to check on our room. Well we ended up missing an ADR that evening...and didn't get into our room until 7p. We would have gone back to the park if my KTTW card wasn't taken to check on our room.
We also had issues with noisy neighbors too. Would hear screaming every morning when the child was woken up, and then when they got back at night more screaming and then followed by the TV turned up loud watching the news. I don't know how that child slept with that TV on....because we didn't.

Not defending BC (although it is one of my fav resorts), but honestly, these types of reviews will pop up at any WDW resort. Seems like whatever one we have booked seems to get a cycle of "bad reviews" right after we book it :scared:

Also, remember that folks seem quicker to report the bad rather than the good, thus I think all reviews might be slightly skewed to the negative.

If you find your room not up to snuff for some reason, don't hesitate to contact Mousekeeping or maintenance. Not only will they make it right for your trip (hopefully) but it will be in good order for the next guest (or next 100).

We stayed at the BC in April and while I was much less than thrilled with our stay, the condition of the rooms was not something I had any issue with. Everything looked to be in good shape in our room and mousekeeping was good. The hallways, however, were in rough shape IMHO. The carpet consistently looked like it was in need of very good vacuuming (lots of crumbs and other debris) and it was buckled pretty badly - like ripples high enough that I felt I needed to look down when walking because I was afraid I'd get caught up and twist an ankle.

this exactly. we were there in April too and this is very true. we stayed cl and i was not impressed with that either.

I agree that you can have good and bad reviews and experiences no matter where you stay. For us, the deal breaker was the noise. I didn't mention earlier that we had an awful experience with another guest. We got caught on a rain storm and many people ran into the hotel for cover. Our family saw an open elevator and ran in there. Apparently this woman was waiting to go on the elevator and chewed us out brutally, in front of my kids too. It was an honest mistake. We did not know they were waiting for the elevator. I was shocked at her language and stunned. I blurted out to our kids that she was an example of how not to act. We stepped out of the elevator and she still abusively yelled after us. I cried. It ruined my day. Not BC's fault of course but leaves a bad memory.

We stayed there for week last August, and LOVED it!!! I just contacted our travel agent to price out a return trip for summer 2014.

When my husband had a medical crisis, the Beach Club CMs were phenomenal!! They did everything within their power to help us out.
