Beach Club - is it just me?

we vacation at the jersey shore every summer and i always say that the beach club just feels like any hotel at the jersey shore, but not in a themed way, just in a boring way. so, yes, i agree.

Just curious, Where at the Jersey shore do you go , and get something that looks like BC.... And Boring??? This is confusing>:confused3...

I've been up n down the coast, from Asbury Park, to Belmar/Pt.Pleasant to Seaside Heights, through LBI & Atlantic City, to finally Wildwood, & Cape May, & I've yet found anything like BC's feel.

I like it and don't think it looks like any other hotel. However, I prefer the yacht club theming. Now the Wilderness Lodge looks like the area where I live so it holds no appeal to me.

I can see the theme, and I do get why folks find BC appealing for various reasons, but... yeah, I'm with you on this. We are definitely in the minority, though! BC just isn't my style.

I can see where you are coming from. I love the place for so many reasons but decor isn't really high on the list. I love being able to walk to Epcot, boat to HS, SAB, the boardwalk in the evenings….just everything about it speaks to me but the decor is nice but nothing special to me.

I really wish they would improve the soundproofing between the rooms and hallways. Heck, even just adding a sweep to the hall door would cut down on the noise from other travelers that sometime forget there are people trying to sleep when they get in late at night. We found BC to be too noisy for us. YC was better (perhaps fewer young families) but a few minor changes would make things quieter. Oddly, we never had a noise problem at Swan, AK, POR or Poly.

Is it just me, or do others agree with this statement:

The Beach Club looks like any other hotel.

I just can't see anything special about the beach club resort (as a hotel itself - I know it's really close to EPCOT and has stormalong bay)

I just don't see anything special theme. Even the new club level lounge looks like where they serve breakfast at a La Quinta or Hampton Inn.
I think it's hard to separate the hotel from being next door to Epcot and having its own small water park. Those are huge parts of the resort's appeal! The theming does seem more tame than say the all stars but I think that goes with the ne beach club idea.

It's nice to see so many people show love for the beach club. I guess having grown up in the northeast, I don't see the theme as much as say at the poly, BWI, YC, WL, or AKL. (I do agree with those about the Contemporary - stayed there last year and hated it).

I live in the northwest now and though it sort of looks like here, I can see the theme at the Wilderness lodge.

And I do agree that it is hard to separate out the amenities and closeness to EPCOT from the Hotel; it is a whole package. The rooms, to me of course, look like Grand Floridian rooms that have been washed over with pastel blues.

I certainly don't mean to offend anyone; it's good to see that it's probably just my own hangups. Thanks!!!!

Another BC fan, just love the atmosphere of the whole area in general especially since Epcot is my favorite park. Glad that the DVC rooms are finally being updated! That's what is so great about Disney, there's something for everyone!

Staying at BC this sept....it reminds me of Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ....it has the same vibe. We stayed at Congress Hall in May, and it was lovely.

I've always thought that too. Living in mostly Oregon and Alaska, it just seems like any old lodge or big house. Beach Club has a theme, but maybe not to an east coaster.

I grew up in PA and vacationed at the Jersey shore every summer of my life until I was an adult. I love the feel and the theming of BC. We mostly vacationed in Wildwood or Cape May and none of the places we ever stayed in come close to BC. The smell in the lobby alone in amazing!

I like in nj and also vacation at the shore. bC has always been my dream resort. I will be staying there in August.

@bethclayton and @Bree Please tell me where you guys have stayed - maybe you have to PM me? I have never found a Jersey Shore or Cape Cod hotel/resort to come close to Beach Club! We are moving this summer and I have to pick a vacation where we can drive - which means the Cape or the Shore or RI beaches. I'd love to find something that resembles the Beach Club. I love the BC, the theme totally does it for me but being from New England I've never found anything that resembles it!

I love everything about it. I think the theme is dead on and this is coming from a Massachusetts native who has visited Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard many times. To me, it is the perfect resort. Theme, location, dining options, proximity to the Boardwalk.

Maybe that's why we have stayed there exclusively over the past 10 years.

I disagree.... I think it's absolutely beautiful at Beach Club... I've stayed at plenty of basic ordinary hotels and it doesn't look look like any of them.....

I disagree. Love the themeing, and think it is right on...the New England/Northeast shore look.

I have to agree with both those on BC and WL, to me has less theming. I have lived both coast and WL just looks like any other lodge up here in Washington, and also the GC looks like any other lodge up here. I see no appeal to the lodge at all, but I live where I can see it all the time. BC being born in Massachusetts shows very little theming for me. Although unlike the WL it has things that will have me going there, say, closeness to epcot and such are huge pulls to our family. We always talk about WL but it is always the same when we rebook, been there done that don't want to go back. I will say, we don't really like the Disney complete feel either. We don't want mickey on the floor, or bedspreads, or lamps, or wall paper, that is a turn off to us.

I understand where you're coming from. I think the Yacht Club has more character, and the Boardwalk has more charm and whimsy. The lobbies in those hotels make you want to linger. They're memorable. The BC, not so much.

I do think the Beach Club scored better, though, when Disney created the villas. That building has more imagination and detailing in the public areas.
