Hi Beach Clubbers,

I am hungry for info. I looked through the FAQ, but as the origination date was so old, I thought I would ask from people who have visited in the last year or so.

How big are the room safes? Can I fit a portable DVD player in it?

Is there a curtain separating the bathroom area and sleep area?

Are there any tips you can give me or suggestions for must-sees at the resort?

Please please please post any pictures you have from the Beach Club of the pool, your standard room, lobby, courtyards, etc.

Thanks a million!!!

Are you staying at the hotel or the villas? Here is a great slide show of the villas. If you're actually staying in the hotel part, you'll still find some great shots of the grounds, the entrance, etc. I'll fish around a little more and see if I can find pictures of the hotel rooms. If I can, I'll post another link.

Hope this helps at least a little bit. You'll LOVE Beach Club!! :yay:

The BC safes are not very large. I can fit my laptop in the BCV safes, but it wouldn't even come close in the BC safe. I do well to get a camera, car keys and spare cash in there.

There's no privacy curtain between the bathroom and the sleeping area. The toilet and tub/shower are in a room with a door, and then there is a vanity area just outside the door. There is a wall that separates the vanity area from the sleeping area, but there is an open hallway behind you when you stand at the vanity. You could put up your own curtain pretty easily with a tension rod and fabric, if you have room in your suitcase for it.

If a balcony is important to you, make sure you have requested one. Some rooms have a standing room only balcony for one person and some have a full balcony. I usually request first floor, which have small patios.

When you walk to Epcot, if you're particularly tired, you can walk on a level walkway instead of going up and over the hill. The entrance on the BC side is just opposite the end of the building closest Epcot, and on the Epcot side it's to the left just after the boat landing. After a long day of walking Epcot, sometimes that last hill is just too much! It's also handy for people with wheelchairs or other mobility issues.

One of my favorite things to do there is to sit in one of the chairs on the beach and watch the sun go down and the Boardwalk light up.

you will love the bc!! for all the reasons mentioned from fla4fun, also what is great is that you are close to 5 resorts in that area, so there is so much to see and do. and being within walking distance to 2 main parks it can become very hard to stay anywhere else! bus sharing is hit or miss as far as who you share with...mostly we shared with yc and that was all but some have said they shared with s/d and bwi. if you are coming back from a park, and you are waiting for bc/yc bus...you can also hop on the bwi or s/d bus if that comes first and just walk over to the bc when you get back.

epcot fireworks is wonderful to see and not have to rush back on a crowded bus! you just walk back to your room! same thing goes for mgm.

have a great trip!!!

To add to kapoof's bus info -

Buses to and from MK are typically shared just with Yacht Club. Buses to and from AK are typically shared with Yacht, Boardwalk, Swan, and Dolphin. I don't remember which resorts share the buses to and from Downtown Disney. :confused3 There aren't buses to Epcot or MGM, because there is boat service plus it's close enough to walk.

Another thought - Be sure to have burgers at Beaches & Cream if you've never been there before. It's a small place, but the food and the ice cream treats are terrific. :woohoo:

Thank you everybody for the info. I sure would love to see more pictures that Dissers took.

I would also love to hear more about the BC. I switched from WL to use the code, and there is very little info about on the boards.

I did the same. The lack of people commenting and offering words about their enjoyment of the place is making me feel like I made a mistake. :upsidedow

Sometimes no comments is a good thing because people tend to focus more on the negative and less on the positive. My last stay there was in April and it was great. I had booked a standard view room, and was upgraded to a water view with a perfect view of the Boardwalk. It is great to be in the Epcot resorts area because you have five resorts for shopping and dining options without ever going to a park. I'm not a big pool person, in fact, I prefer the quiet pools to the theme pools, so I can't really give you an opinion of SAB other than I see a lot of people having a great time. I haven't had any trouble with transportation there, but I tend to not ride during peak periods, so that makes a big difference. I like being able to walk to the Studios and to Epcot. The only thing I can think of that could create a problem is the balcony issue. If you need a full balcony, be sure that's your first request. I usually request first floor, so the balcony is not an issue for me. I have always found the CM's there to be pleasant and helpful. I did have an issue with their outsourced valet people when I was trying to check out (they didn't want me to stop long enough for the bellman to load the car, when the bellman was right there to do it - I felt that was uncalled for) but other than that, no problems.

Good point, and I am hoping this is the case. Should I be worried about the possibility of double beds? I gave up bunk beds for this, and it will be bad enough if I end up having to sleep with one of my boys, but it will be worse if it is a double and not a queen. I don't really mind about the lack of a balcony.

How good was the rate that you got that made you switch?
I am at the WL in Dec and if it was a good rate I might consider changing.;)

I saved about $340 off the amount I was going to spend at WL, but closer to $800 off what a week at BC with park hoppers and dining would normally cost.

Great info... would love to see pictures.... Our room is booked at beach club for may 08
Did you check out my links earlier in the thread? Lots of great pictures. The second link has pictures of the hotel, rather than the villas. Or did the links not work? :confused3

I saw the links and they looked great. Well, I was not that impressed with the AllEars pictures after looking at Cass's slideshow.

However, Cass's stuff showed the Villas and that is quite different than the standard room I will be staying in.

If the balcony is not an issue for you, but the beds are, then I would make two queen beds the first request. Whatever is your first request is the one they try to fulfill first.

The CM told me that there are two choices for standard rooms: Parking lot and courtyard? Is this correct? I would think a courtyard view would be considered an upgrade?
