Beach Club - Hungry for Info

Hi,

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to post, but my family really loves the BC. My husband never wants to stay anywhere else. The CM's are the friendliest and most helpful that I have encountered in the World, the rooms are roomy and very comfortable, mousekeeping is terrific and we love the location, of course. For us, the BC is Disney. I hope you'll enjoy the BC as much as we do ... I'm sure you will! ;) We leave in just about a month and I can hardly wait ... we have a short 3 night stay it the CR (my son's dream!) and then on to the BC for 14 days! I promise to take lots of pics this time!

The CM told me that there are two choices for standard rooms: Parking lot and courtyard? Is this correct? I would think a courtyard view would be considered an upgrade?

Not necessarily. I've booked standard nearly every trip. I've had views of the woodsy area between BC and Epcot, I've had a side view of the quiet pool, I've had a view that was partially parking lot and part the courtyard between BC and BCV. Probably the side view of the pool and the view of the BCV would have been considered courtyard standard views. I'm not sure how they categorize the woodsy view, but it's a nice quiet one and you can see the upper fireworks from Illuminations. I think some of the standard view rooms are over the front entrance facing the parking lot, but since I request first floor, so far I haven't had one of those. None of the standard views I've had have been really bad.

Another Beach Club lover here! We don't ever want to stay anywhere else. It is beautiful and the location is the best in the World in my opinion.
We love to walk to Epcot through the International Gateway. My DH says he can be in the UK with a beer in hand in less than 10 minutes:lmao:
Stormalong Bay is the best pool on property. It is wonderful to drift along the lazy river section, and we love sitting around enjoying a snack and beverage from Hurricane Hannah's.
Art the Greeter is a classic. Be sure you meet him.
We also love the choice of either walking or taking the boat to MGM. It is very convenient.
Your dining choices in this area are vast. You have all of the restaurants of the Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin and Yacht Club within an easy walk. We also enjoy the International Food in the WS.
You will fall in love with the BC.
Have a great trip.

I saw the links and they looked great. Well, I was not that impressed with the AllEars pictures after looking at Cass's slideshow.

However, Cass's stuff showed the Villas and that is quite different than the standard room I will be staying in.

I don't think the Allears photos do justice to the BC, and I haven't even stayed there yet, just been there for dinner. And their pictures of Stormalong Bay are downright disappointing. There is a much better look at the pool complex here : http://www.tagrel.com/Tours/DVC/SAB2003/SABSlideShow.shtml

We're staying at the Beach Club for the first time next week, and I'll be sure to pop back in on this thread to post pics and a link to my trip report.

Hi -

I have an easy solution for your privacy curtain....buy Contact Hooks (these are temporary/removable hooks) and a shower curtain. Attach the hooks to the opening between the sink area and the section of the room with the beds. A standard shower curtain fits this area perfectly. You can hang your curtain during shower times <---creating a separate dressing area.....and bring it down during the day.

It worked so well for us 2 years ago, we are planning to use it next week in Disneyland with another friend.

Curious why you switched from the WL. I LOVE the Beach Club but WL is just beautiful, clean, superbly well run....always a pleasure to visit.

Have fun at the BC.

We stayed at BC for a week in June 2005 and just booked another trip for Aug 2-10, 2008. We ate at Beaches & Cream 2 times and loved it. We ate at Yachtsman--very good, relaxing atmosphere with great food. My kids had these awesome desserts that was a white chocolate puzzle they could paint and a cupcake. We also did the character breakfast and the clambake at Cape May Cafe and enjoyed all of them a lot. We spent a lot of time at SAB--my DD's (twins, 9 at the time) absolutely loved SAB. They has as much fun there as they did at the parks. Being so close to Epcot is great. You can walk to MGM, but it is a long walk and my DH didn't like the long walk. The rooms were great, comfortable beds, great mousekeeping--they did a mickey mouse out of the towels for us. We had a full baloncy (requested one) & I was really glad to have it. My DH and I sat out there a lot in the evenings and had a cocktail or drank coffee in the mornings we weren't rushing off to the parks. Have a great trip! You will love the BC!

bc is great!!! we had a wonderful stay this past january. bc tends to have more familys then the yc so it is a bit more relaxed but still very pretty. the location is probably the best on property, think about it...you can walk to two parks! two less crowded buses to wait for. the beach is very relaxing to sit by and have a drink. the pool is lots of fun and the places to eat at are numerous. we ate at cape mays and it was very good as was the flying fish. in the a.m. we would get up early and walk around the lake to the boardwalk bakery and then head off to a park. emh for epcot was very nice just to cross over the bridge and be right there in england.

staying at the bc has made it our best trip yet to wdw. trouble is you can be very spoiled and it is hard to stay anywhere else...

Has anyone ever stayed at the BC at Christmas? We're thinking of booking a stay here before our cruise next December :santa: (I know it's wicked early, but I like to plan!)....

The Holiday events at EPCOT are reason enough to choose an EPCOT resort. The international gateway allows you to watch Candelight Processional, the Holiday edition of Illuminations, take a leisurly stroll around World Showcase and enjoy the music and lights at closing and still just walk back to your room vs. bus, car or monorail.

EPCOT resorts are the BEST at the holidays --- beginning in Thanksgiving with Candelight Processional.

Have a great time.

I think BC is great at Christmas. I love the holiday finale to Illuminations, so it's nice to be close enough to catch it more than once. I'm really going to miss it this year, but I'm up at CR this year, to catch the new lights on the Castle. I imagine I'll be right back at either BC or BCV next December.

Where can I get good coffee close to the Beach Club - or even at it? I am somewhat of a coffee snob. I do not like Folgers, Maxwell House, Gevalia, Sanka, Hills Bros, or hardly any of the stuff you get in the store. I love Starbucks lattes and at home I make Millstone dark roast or grind my own dark roast Starbucks beans and I will not use powdered creamer. Ick!

Is there any place I can go where I can find a full-flavored coffee and even flavored creamer?

the market place in the bc will have coffee, plus there is a coffee pot in your room. if you really miss starbucks i believe there is one at the dolphin. its just a walk around the lake ...under 10 minutes.

Did you check out my links earlier in the thread? Lots of great pictures. The second link has pictures of the hotel, rather than the villas. Or did the links not work? :confused3

hmmm I looked at the one link and it was the villas... maybe i missed the resort piture link I will go back and look... :scared1:

Can you pls share where you got these special rate codes from? Thanks!:goodvibes

I was going to make a joke and say I had to sleep with Mickey, but that was just too weird. :sad2:

I recieved a pincode in the email from Chase stating that if I book on my Disney Visa, I could possibly receive a discount. It is the same code that was released this week to all Disney Visa holders.:)

Is it a full Starbucks or is it brewed coffee only?

i have heard that it is a full starbucks. don't quote me but i remember reading that somehwere. if you are really desperate as i was one year...you can always bring your own fresh ground coffee and filters, and use the room coffee pot. the coffee that disney supplies could choke a pig!!

have fun at the bc...you will be very happy there!

hmmm I looked at the one link and it was the villas... maybe i missed the resort piture link I will go back and look... :scared1:

I too only saw the Villas.
Sorry, guys. I should have put both links in the same post, but I have them in separate posts. Go back and look at the link in post #4. It's a slide show that has pictures of standard rooms in the Beach Club Hotel, which I think is what you're looking for. Enjoy! :)
