Hello All
Anyone can tell me how fast you get to go?
Has anyone had a bad time there?
Thanks
Ed

Hi,
I just checked my husband sheet..it's on our wall. His average speed was almost 126. If you do the rookie experience it's ten laps and you follow an instructor. If the instructor in the car in front of you things you can handle it, he speeds up..hence you can speed up. My husband had a blast!!! He has since done it at NHIS with a huge group of family/friends we put together. If you are doing the ride along, I know that you go faster, but I'm not sure exactly how fast. He has done this too and he is telling me that I am doing it when we go down in September..I'm a chicken!! If you'd like more info, let me know.

My husband did it back in April and he got to up to 124 mph. You can't get too much faster because have to follow your instructor. He will look in the rear view to see if he should speed up at all but its really up to him. And I think the rookie experience is only 8 laps, but I could be wrong.

And it's only eight laps!

So you have to follow an instructor? Too Bad!

Anything else that a person should know about? Hints? Suggestions?

Thanks for any info!

PS If you book before September 15, you can probably still get this for $199.00!

When DH did this a few months ago (he's still smiling), they gave everyone a computer sheet afterwards with their time per lap. Yes, you do have to follow your instructor, but surprisingly, one of the biggest errors people make is not following their instructor close enough. Those instructors are ready to go alot faster than most people go. Only tip I have is make sure someone comes along to take lots of pictures-DH insists he HAS to do it again since I didn't bring the video camera.

Here's another tip for the person who goes with you. You might want to bring a book or a magazine because there is alot of time to kill while your significant other is not racing. You will most likely be waiting on the bleachers or inside for a total of 2-3 hours. Sunscreen is a good idea too. It gets hot on those metal bleachers!

Ok, I just double checked hubby's sheet, there was a total of 10 laps, but one was warm up and one was cool down..so he was racing 8, but was on the track going around 10. I second bringing something with you to do, if you are going with them. Luckily hubby was in a small class and I got to go thru the class part with him and he went right out on the track when it was that time. When we did NHIS, we had about 25-30 people in our group alone, and it took forever!! Luckily, there were several other wives and s/o's that went, so we all hung out together.:earsgirl:
