Last-minute planning for a trip on April 10-13. How much luck have you people had with BOG walk-ins on the day? Nothing available on the MDE app, I'm afraid. I'm planning to go into MK on the morning of the 10th and ask if there have been any last-minute cancellations--preferably for dinner but any time is good, really, even later that same day or the next three days (we have park hoppers). How often do you see people getting last-minute walk-ins or reservations for BOG?

From everything I've read on here, it's rare. You probably have to walk up to the host stand the moment they mark someone as a no-show. For both lunch and dinner, I believe they book to capacity.

Your better bet would be to keep checking on MDE to see if someone cancels online, and snag that reservation as soon as it hits. People have had luck checking the day before going, as other people cancel to avoid a no-show fee.

Thanks for the tip! I'm still relatively new to the app, is there a way to search by restaurant on the app for all times (and not just by breakfast, lunch or dinner)? Seems to save loading times...

My DD found an open table on their trip last year using the app. They kept checking and one for dinner popped up while they were in the park. She called me very excited. I have never used the app, so I can't answer you other questions.

Try Touring Plans reservation finder.

Being clueless about BOG and the fact that lunch required reservations, my hubby and I showed up a few years ago expecting normal quick service (again, very little research here). We were turned away, but noticed a standby line. They said the standby line was already full but we hung around anyway. 5 minutes later the line started moving, so we stepped to the end and got in just fine.

As you said, your experience was "a few years ago". They do not have a standby line at this time. You can ask at the podium but it is rare to be admitted that way,
The best chance is to check the app to see if a cancellation opens an ADR and then make that.

Unlikely even if you say you're willing to wait. (And if you did wait you're likely talking hours not minutes.)

As others have said, your best bet is to check back regularly. I'd especially check about 24 hours before when people are likely to be canceling reservations (although my understanding is the $10 cancellation per person doesn't apply to BOG).

You're going during a rather busy week as am I. (Luckily I got my ADR at 180 days from the day I'm going to MK)
I would not count on being a walk up for dinner. Period.
During next week you probably don't have a great shot at a lunch walk up either but you can give it a try.
You have the best chance to walk up for breakfast I'd say although personally I would not waste my money on breakfast.
I kinda long for the days when they didn't serve breakfast and you didn't need an ADR for lunch and could just get in line at 10am and be first inside at 10:30am. It made for an early lunch but my family is not big on breakfast so by the time you ordered and received your rood we were ready to eat.

We've walked up as a party of 2 twice for lunch with success. We were lucky. If you don't mind breakfast or lunch, split your party up and look for times that are close. You can always sit together once you are inside as those meals are QS and you seat yourself.

Keep trying with the app. Especially as reservations need to be cancelled 24 hours prior to avoid the no show fee. Last October 1 was able to get a lunch for 3 people on a Saturday late Friday night.

As others have said just keep checking.

Last year we went in May and while waiting for our lunch adr I counted 20 people who tried to walk up and were turned away.

Just make sure you have an alternate plan. Good luck!

I've been stalking it for weeks and nothing has popped up yet, but I'm going to keep trying! We'll be at MK on 5/30 so my chances are pretty slim, but nevertheless... we figure if we have time that morning we will try a walk-up breakfast spot, but also not very likely. My DD loves Beauty and the Beast so it would be very cool to get her in there! Good luck to you!

I'll also echo the folks who recommended the Touring Plans reservation finder! It helped me get an 8:00 BOG for our trip next week, and just last night a 7:30 at CG opened up!

Probably rare, but people who have reservations who are going to cancel need to do so by 11:59 the night before, so you could start checking the app the day before up until a bit after midnight to possibly snag someone who has cancelled. I do not think you would get a reservation just walking up. Book a back up if anything is available and then cancel if you get a BOG res

My mom has the Touring Plans app but I still check regularly in case she misses the alert! Seems to be worth the money.

I would not count on them accepting a walk up. I've seen them turn everyone away when we are there.

Just keep looking, especially in the days just before your desired day.

We're headed to WDW in 3 weeks, and I'm hoping to snag lunch reservations at BOG as well. No park hoppers though, so hoping for a 5/2 or 5/3 opening. I didn't know Touring Plans has a reservation finder! I'll have to look into that as checking the website regularly hasn't been successful yet.
