Be Our Guest Lunch FastPass Thread [PLEASE read the FAQs in the first post!]

So can I ask those who have received the Bonjour emails inviting them to make a FP+ reservation, when are you staying at WDW? I'm trying to make a reservation for the very end of November.

Disney, this is ridiculous. I have followed all of your rules:
1. I booked onsite at 7am as soon as the Disney visa offer came out and was on the phone for 3 hours.
2. I booked all of my adr's at 180 days + 10 at 100am
3. I booked all of my fastpasses at 60 days out at 100am
4. The last thing I have to get taken care of before I leave for my overly planned vacation is a BOG fastpass+.
And you decide to change the rules 3 weeks before my vacation, are you serious?
And you have the guts to send me an email to book my BOG FP+ that doesn't work?
This is the last straw. I am a planner by nature and it used to be planning and the anticipation was half of the fun.

I just have to add my agreement to this vent. This is my first trip with my own family, after not having been since I was in high school. I've been rolling my eyes at all the complaints on this board about the new system, and dutifully jumping through every booking hoop to try to plan our vacation. With this latest switcheroo, I finally understand the frustration others feel about the constantly changing procedures and an appalling lack of communication on Disney's end. Just when you think you have it figured out, they change the rules! And even worse -- they don't tell you what the new rules are.

I noticed a cancellation listed here. Anyone know why the November adr cancellation board is closed?

Well, this news sucks, as does a lot of the news from Disney lately. Thanks to DIS for at least getting this info out there.

We are down there Nov 6th-16th and had plans to FP+ BOG for one lunch. It remains to be seen if we can make it happen.

But, I figured I might as well go into "Fallback Mode".

We have FPs at 12:55 for PP and then 4:30 for SDMT.

What are your recommendations for the best fallback restaurant of choice in either MK (limited availability) or at one of the hotels on the monorail loop or a quick boat ride??

It looks like Kona has availability (Party of 9) and we have Whispering Canyon booked for a lunch later in the week.

I appreciate any and all opinions.

Cheers.

I am doing a split stay, Oct. 31-Nov. 6, then Nov. 6-9. My 27 days opened on Oct. 7, which of course didn't work. Then I got the email on Oct. 8, which still didn't work.

I haven't had a chance to read through the entire thread, but I just noticed this on MDE/MDX

"FastPass+

You have not yet added FASTPASS+ arrival times for attractions, entertainment or quick-service restaurants."

Not sure if it always had that statement of "quick-service restaurants" or not.

We loved Liberty Tree Tavern on our trip two weeks ago! Of course ohana is wonderful for dinner too

I am staying Nov 1-8, and got my email this afternoon.

This is interesting. I think DW is getting a bit over the top in planning requirements for a vacation, though, with all the FP+.

After eating lunch at BOG last year, I was asked to take part in a survey/discussion about the experience. There were about eight of us there, and I think most had eaten using the FP+ and had enjoyed the experience, including myself. But now, if it ends up like the A&E FP+, complete sell out in the first minute, it's going to ruin the experience and keep many out of the castle. I think the early reservation FP+ system is kind of backfiring on Disney. :scratchin

I second the vote for Liberty Tree Tavern. We have always loved our meals and the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is to die for!! :)

I totally agree.

We went two years in a row 2009 & 2010. This is our first trip back. And it has been night and day.

Back then I thought everything was so seamless. So well orchestrated. Yes I needed to plan things out and be well prepped, but this time has just been one big headache and one glitch after another.

My stress over all of this has done my husband in. "I'm not paying thousands upon thousands of dollars to be stressed out."

This will be our last trip till we have grandkids I think. Our kids are turning 10 on this trip. We'll give our dollars to the Caribbean and Europe.

We have gone every year and the planning has been seamless. This time with the new MDE site has been a nightmare. I am so fed up that I am not looking forward to this trip. Made my dining reservations then they changed the park hours. Couldn't get a BOG for dinner so I thought we would do lunch. It isn't happening. We are going for 14 nights and bought park passes for 10 days. Would only let me book FP + for 2 days. Called Disney ...CM said I could book the other days after I checkin...they will fix the glitch then.
Now they send me emails to book BOG for lunch and nothing is available . WE will be @ WDW Nov 1-15.

I'm in that unfortunate space where I've passed my 60 day but didn't hit 27 before this started. I feel like a hostage who did everything my captor demanded but he still won't let me go.

You and me both. Purgatory, isn't it?! :(

On the plus side, for once I'm not climbing the walls with excitement waiting for our trip. For once I font have high expectations this will be a magical family vacation.

I feel like there is too much in limbo right now. I am booked for November 14-22 and if it's true that they may be changing the system so that I have to use one of my three FP's to secure a lunch reservation, I think I'm going to pass. I booked the Plaza for lunch today and I'm sure it will be great!

At the end of the day BOG is really not that great in my opinion. I have eaten there twice It's just bothering me that my "choice" is being taken from me to eat there.

at 180 days not one dinner reservation was available, you can not wait in line now or make a fast pass + that just all seems unfair to me. Oh spend 4,000 dollars on a vacation but not everything is working smoothly on Disney ends. They had no problem taking my $ on time. I think for the $ you spend for a Disney vacation you should be able to book sort after reservation and fast passes with no issues. I do not have this drama when I stay onsite at universal. and I love Disney it's just a shame at this point

The Main Street Mouse is reporting that BOG will be FP reservations for onsite guess and a stand by line through October 29th. After that time, Disney will assess the situation and make a decision on how it will deal with BOG from there on out.

Well that sure does a lot of good for us that are trying to get reservations for November!! I guess we are just supposed to wait until sometime after October 29th (who knows when that will be) and then if we don't find out at just the right time and aren't' able to hop online immediately, we will lose out all together on getting to eat at BOG. :headache:

I will be on the Dream 10/29....so I suppose I will be keeping my LTT lunch reservations.
