Be Our Guest Dinner Review

If you don't speak up about a preference when they call to seat you, then they'll just take you to the next available table, which could be in any of the three rooms.
If you request a preference at that time, they will try to accommodate you, but you have to be willing to probably wait. As far as I know, there is no way to request a particular room ahead of time.
As far as the ballroom goes, try to get a seat as close to the windows as possible, so you can see the snow fall and feel like it's a special room. The farther away from the windows you sit, the more the room feels like a big noisy cafeteria and less like a special ballroom.

Thanks for the review! I have a dinner reservation at the beginning of November and we really want to dine in the West Wing. What's the best way to approach our reservation, should we call in or ask the hostess when we arrive?

A friend of mine, who is a DVC member, made the reservation first thing in the morning at 180 days out from their reservation at the Contemporary. She was later able to add my boyfriend and I to join them for their reservation. We did not ask to be seated in a certain section, we were just very lucky to get put in the West Wing.
 
Your shrimp and scallop dish looks so good! How many shrimp did you get with it? And the puff pastry, what kind of sauce is that and did it make the pastry soggy? What else was inside the pastry?

I only had 2 scallops in the dish, but plenty of shrimp. Looking at my picture, there were maybe 6-8 shrimp in there. Doesn't seem like much from the picture, but I was stuffed after I finished. The pastry stayed perfectly flaky and delicious the whole time...not soggy. There is sauce, wilted spinach, and a combination of julienned veggies (mushrooms and carrots, I think) inside the pastry. I'm not sure what the sauce was, but it was nice and creamy. I'm trying to remember what I tasted like, but its been quite a few months now and I'm drawing a blank. Either way, I would highly recommend it. If not, I also tried some of my boyfriend's steak, which was also excellent, just not as unique of an option.
 
Still hoping to get in for 1st week in January dinner. The photos and review are a great incentive to keep trying!

That shrimp and scallop dish looks heavenly. This review has given me more determination to be persistent about getting a dinner reservation for our February trip. Back to stalking the cancellation board and Disney Dining
