I don’t know about you but I was rejoicing over Pete’s new (old) smilies policy. Two per post is just fine with me…0 would be even better. Why do we need them? I hate having those little things looking at me. I’ll take a

over a any day of the week!

I do use them sometimes in my posts ..just to be part of the CB “in” crowd. God forbid I not put a smilie in one of my posts..the smilie police will surely get me. I did a little experiment a while ago I posted something with a smilie and without. GAMW the one with the smilie got twice the number of replies and views. (you people are sick)

I know where you are coming from, I mean how good is a joke if you have to use a a bunch of smilies to explain it is a joke in the first place? (Of course I simply use the method of never writing anything serious so it is all a joke eliminating the need to differentiate.)

Man, I wish I had smilies that laughed really hard! That would really show what I'm trying to say!!!

Can't imagine WHY anyone would have anything against smilies...I mean don't you have anything more important to complain about? I mean, come on! SMILIES? I don't get it!! Maybe if it is the only thing a person uses to describe their thoughts and everything but...most of the time, at least, people include a few words in their posts too!

Exactly Zurg if a post can’t stand on its own two feet then what good is it? (same goes for a man after 10 beers) I feel like I’m back in the stone ages when I read some of these smilie posts…why do they need primitive cave drawings to get their point across?

I sometimes have to open up the smilie menu to decipher some peoples posts. The smilie menu is sort of like the rosetta stone of the DIS. How else can you make out those smilie hieroglyphs.

A good example:

Hey Zurg I bet your party will be real
I hope you are not that I can’t go
But my wife when I am near beer
She says I go if I have one beer
I get so when she says that
She says I off the walls
And stick my out at her
I am so

After translation using the rosetta dis stone:
