We are going to WDW Dec 21-26 (already booked).
I know it'll be busy.
I know it'll be beyond busy.
But now I'm starting to get a little afraid.

I was just playing around on the Disney site and put in our dates agian to check prices at different resorts and almost everything was booked!
No avail at any of the All Stars (we'll be at Movies) and alot of the other resorts booked as well.

We've always gone at "value season" times.

I hope we're ready! :earseek:

Not trying to pile on, but have you checked airfare from STL? I've seen nothing less than $330 so far. But I'm hoping it's just because I'm checking too early.

ccgegg,
We used Priceline. $198 roundtrip 1 stop US Airways.
Already bought and paid for.

Thanks for the tip, but with 2 little ones and my mom who rarely flies, a non-stop is well worth $130 per person! I'll hold out for American or Southwest.

We have only been at "value time" also. I'm sure if you are aware of what you face (as far as crowdes) and plan a little more, you'll have a wonderful time.

We have been the past two years at the same time and have enjoyed nothing but a magical time. The crowds were not bad until Christmas day and really, that was just at the Magic Kingdom. We just avoided that park that day but otherwise, it was one of the LEAST crowded times we've ever experienced at WDW. The weather is beautiful, the decorations are amazing, the parks are open later -- I actually would suggest traveling this week to anyone I know. So don't be afraid, be excited and enjoy a fabulous vacation!

We went last year from 12/16 to 12/20 and we noticed the MK was packed on the 20th- like you couldn't even walk around and rides that are usually walk ons like HM had hour and a half waits :earseek:

BUT- the holidays are a magical time to visit so its worth it, just get there early, use fastpass and have a great time.

You get to see the christmas parade w/out paying extra for MVMCP and you get later park hours.

Also- they usually open up "seasonal" attractions during peak times. When we were there on the 20th- they had both Timekeeper AND Wonders of Life open! That made it worth it.

We have been there through the 26th twice and both times the crowds were not bad, though they got noticeably heavier as it got closer to Christmas. One thing I would suggest is to avoid the MK on Christmas Day; both times it was closed by 10 am. We went to Epcot one year and MGM one year - both were not bad (though I must say this was in 2001 and 2002 and crowds have picked up since then). And the Saturday before Christmas is generally very busy (especially at the MK) (and this year that happens to be Christmas Eve).

I went over Xmas time in 98 and never again. It was packed and ALL the resorts were sold out except the very expensive rooms.

Parks shut down due to capacity, there were 2 hour waits for some rides (of course this was before the introduction of fast pass, but still).

To busy for my tastes :)

Disneys website is deceiving. Give it a few hours or a day and try again then you will see that there are vacanies. I have gone throught this in the past.
