We're debating over which of these to stay at. Which is the better of the two all around? Is Epcot closer (in walking distance) to BCV? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Epcot's Back door is very convenient to both BCV and BWV. In my opinion, a somewhat shorter walk from BCV.

Both are excellent resorts! BCV's pool, Stormalong Bay, is fabulous if you're a pool person. BWV has all the excitement of the Boardwalk and some great eateries. You can't go wrong with either - just think of your dilemma as which one to try first! Then take a return trip to the other!!!!

I agree that you can't go wrong with either resort. The pool would be the determining factor for me. We own at the BC, but stayed recently at BWV and loved it. The CMs were really, really friendly. Have fun!

The International Gateway at Epcot is definitely closest to BCV.

This satellite image was taken before BCV was built, but the green line represents the approximate shortest walk to IG. The red line is the approximate walk from BWV to IG.

Caskbill.....thanks for posting that map!! I thought I must really be missing something, because the walk from BCV seems a LOT closer to me than the walk from BWV (not that the walk from there is bad...it just seems like BCV is much closer). Your map seems to indicate that my "gut" was correct.

The walk from BCV is definitely closer, but a little more winding if you walk along the backside of the resort. BWV is really not that much farther. We love both resorts so much that we are going to start splitting our stays between the two. The pool is probably the biggest draw for us at BCV, but BWV squeaks ahead by just a little and that's because we enjoy the energy of the BW. Another plus for us is the Community Hall. Our DD likes going to play the games and crafts.

We own at BWV and love it there. But, we are giving BCV a try in June. Our dd loves to swim so the allure of SAB is a big draw for her. We are planning a ladies trip with another mom and her dd in Oct '06, when the girls turn 13. So, this trip in June is almost a scouting trip to see how we like BCV and the pool area. If we really like it, we'll book there in '06 so we don't have to be running off to the water parks.
With BCV closer to Epcot, BWV are closer to MGM. We love the Community Hall also. That's the one thing dd is going to really miss in June. We are going to check with them and see if she can still use it, even tho we aren't staying at BWV this time. It was never very full in there when we were there in Nov.

i get into the whole decor and theme at bcv. esp at night it feels very classy walking around the resort grounds and the lobby areas.
