I've been surprised at the interest and could not understand why.

Hello: The two main reasons are: 1. Location, location, location.

2. Hotel amenities, especially the pools(SAB). and the size.

maybe I should have asked that question.
No real views I believe at bcv tacked on to the end of the beech club

Canadian Tom: You forgot to mention LOCATION!

The ability to walk to the Boardwalk, MGM and EPCOT is huge and SAB is the most amazing swimming pool outside of the water parks.

I don't care about the views. I'm not in the room much. I like being next door to Epcot. Sounds like views are the single most important option for some.

as for it being tacked onto the Beach Club... what's the downside of that? I can't think of one.

The Y&B have been a very popular WDW hotels Lots of people jumped at the chance to "own" where they have already been staying for years. (VWL had this same draw, even though the WL is much newer than Y&B). There are some great views at BCV and some that aren't as great. While view matters to some people, others claim it has no real effect on their trip. There are still lots of folks who don't spend enough time in the room to really worry about the views....they haven't got time to sit on the balcony and/or stare out the window.

There's also "personal preference" that can't really be considered right or wrong. There were some people who appreciated the location of being close to 2 parks but just didn't feel a real pull from BWV to do an add-on. Some of these people were won over by the "look" of BCV that appealed to them more and gave them the basically the same location. Of course, SAB is a big draw for many as well.

The biggest attraction is the location. The second biggest attraction is Stormalong Bay. I disagree with the no view comment. The view of the wooded area is nice, and I also like the view of the quiet pool. The road/dumpster view is not great, but a lousy view at Disney is still better than a great view at home!!!!!;)

While I know MANY people don't share my opinion... one of main reasons we purchased an add-on at BCV was... while we really enjoyed the location that BWV offered - we didn't care for the parking situation. Yep - that's right - we don't LIKE valet parking.

So BCV was a great alternative... We still get the fabulous location, but we can park out close to the building.

We don't use the bus system - so we enjoy being able to easily access the car.

Believe it or not - SAB played no factor in our purchase decision. DH and I both grew up in FL - swimming pools just don't hold any attraction to us...

To each his own - but that's why we prefer BCV over BWV.

Here again, it's location. Combine that with SAB and it's just a wonderful place to be. Being from S. Jersey, we love the boardwalk around us and all the activity.

No one's mentioned my #1 reason for loving BCV-the New England Seaside theming (like Samantha Brown, I grew up in New England, though, and I don't remember palm trees). #2 reason has been mentioned-nearness to Epcot. But I don't swim, so have no interest in SAB. But that theming!
What's ironic is that when I lived in New England, I visisted the (then new) BC and had no interest in it. But now that I've moved away from New England, I love it! Love to go there, feel the sand under my toes, and eat too much ice cream!

We first looked into DVC when BWV's were available for puchase. I couldn't really put my finger on the exact reason why we decided not to buy at the time, but my husband and I were standing out on the boardwalk after our tour and discussing it. One thing we didn't like was the boardwalk noise, when we were taking the tour we could hear a lot of the noise from the boardwalk from our room, but that certainly didn't break the deal, like I said there was just something! Anyway, we were standing at the Boardwalk railing and I pointed over to the Beach Club (where we were staying on that trip, by the way) and told my husband "now, if they ever build there, I will be first in line to buy there".

Its like PamOKW said, we were one of the people who just loved the Beach Club and had been staying there for awhile. I love the beach atmosphere, the ambiance and the theme of this resort. I also don't really care for SAB, if I wanted sand in my bathing suit I would go to a beach, not a pool!

Hi,

For us it was the location! We love the fact that you can walk to Epcot or MGM. We also like the pool. :) We will try them all of course but we're happy.

We bought at BCV for all the above reasons.......

And because of the above reasons.......

We wanted the 11 month window there. It is a small resort, so having the 11 month window will become more and more important as more members join in.

We have stayed at both BWV and BCV and prefer the quieter atmosphere at BCV but know that when we want some action, it's a 5 minute walk. :D However, the oversized chairs in the BW lobby are so comfy plus it's a great place to people watch. I just love the Epcot area, no matter where we are staying.

We bought at BCV on a gut feeling that after 7 years of thinking about it it was time to throw caution to the wind and just do it already. The pre construction sale was what got us it was a deal too good to pass up. Then we visited wdw a month later and saw the beautiful setting and did a pre construction add on.

We stayed there and loved it , had ariels courtyard, which was georgous imho, and quiet pool which was georgous too. When I saw how beautiful the boardwalk looked from the water, and then experienced the cheerful nightime activity there I wanted to own there too, so we bought some boardwalk.

but

when we stayed at boardwalk I realized that i should have just added more points to bcv. Like was previously mentioned, you can always walk there and enjoy all the ammenities, but then return home to a slice of heaven on earth bcv!!

BCV is so much more tranquil, even the color scheme is soothing. You cannot beat the proximity to epcot , and after having been spoiled by sab, I was boared at Luna park, although my 7y dd loved the slide.

I find myself wishing that I could trade my 150 bwv points for bcv!!

11 month window for December booking at that location - proximity to Epcot, BW and MGM.

SAB - no pool hopping there.

Great atmosphere with its NE theme.

Previous stays at BW and BC and prefer BC.

SAB.........the rest (proximity to Epcot, BW, theming, etc..) are just gravy.
The zero entry "beach area" of SAB is quite simply the best I have ever seen for the toddler/preschool age and since we have three children in that range....can you say "add-on", we did:D

We bought 200 pts at BWV site unseen and LOVE it. After the BCV opened we added 100 pts there as we wanted to have the 11 month window and use of SAB. We really, really like BCV, but LOVE BWV. We just added on 100 pts at BW. We have enjoyed BW, BC, WL - but our home/heart is at the BW.

As to why we like BCV -- great resort, excellent pool, excellent location to Epcot, great location to MGM -- why wouldn't we want to call bcv home?

or do you have the same thoughts about every DVC location.
My DW and I love BCV'S because of the overall style of the buildings, the location, the pool, the decor....shall I go on. It's personal choice just like everyone else has made choosing their resorts.
