BCV: There goes the neighborhood?

My wife Melissa and I spent the weekend before last at the Animal Kingdom Lodge - our plan was to do the AP scavenger hunt thing at the magic kingdom on Friday, and spend the rest of the weekend taking it easy and enjoying the animal kingdom lodge and park, eating some good meals at Jiko, Boma, and Marrakesh, and just taking it easy. Somehow - I'm still really not sure how - Melissa ends up talking to the guy under the umbrella at the Animal Kingdom on Saturday, and Sunday we end up at the boardwalk, spending $12,000 we hadn't planned to spend on that trip, and getting a nifty new backpack to carry this box of papers home in...we got a letter yesterday telling us that everything was a done deal, and so it looks like we will be spending our next trip at our home away from home at the beach club villas.

I'm so amazed and happy and excited - because we didn't really plan to do it and had no intention to do it - that I just can't really believe it. Wow, Beach Club Villas, how about that -

My Dw and I just bought sight unseen over the phone last week and will close when we are down at the end of Oct. Dw has already booked the 1st ressie for her and a girlfriend in January.

Welcome home, neighbor. My wife and I bought BCV in August, without seeing it, even though we did the DVC presentation in June when we were visiting "The World." Our first stay at BCV is not until June (34 weeks and 4 days to be exact). Needless to say, we are beside ourselves with excitement and anticipation.

LOL! We did something like this last year! Never 'planned' to join DVC. We were 'tent camping' (yes I said TENT) at Fort Wilderness and after 3 days we found ourselves looking at the DVC 'homes'. I told DH that for now on, I want to come 'home' to a DVC room and not a tent! I think I am past my tent camping years --although we do enjoy our pop up camper (DH didn't want to pull it down to Florida, so that is why we went with a tent).

Now I can't wait for our first trip Home! In March 2003, we are going to the BCV resort (which is our home resort). I think it is SO COOL that we will be able to walk to Epcot from the resort!

I just couldn't believe that DH (the sensible, penny pinching one) wanted to do this too! Usually one of us talks the other out of things. But in this case we BOTH said YES! (and I can honestly say that another big selling point was how they handled our 'kids' while we were talking to the saleman. I was a little worried about them and asked to go check on them, my kids were having a great time while their Dad and I were deciding what to do, then after seeing the model room.....I was SOLD!!!!!!!!)

I can't wait! Just wish we could have afforded more. But 150 points are better than no points at all!

D R welcome home.

We ended up with sort of the same story, expect I talked with a women while at MGM, and didn't do the sales pich when at WDW, we ended up buying after we came home and haven't seen the model or even got our free lunch (we did get the back pack, we call it our 12,000 $ back pack).


Well we own at VWL, but really are excited about BCV, so our frist trip as DVC members is to BCV March 1-7 2003 (WestJones, when are you going?)

So we are proud new DCV members, but havne' t been "home" yet.
