We just returned from a four day trip to BCV. We (two adults and three children ages 2, 6, and 9) stayed in Room 151. Booked the room at 7 months out with no problem. Very clean room, which my wife made sure she cleaned before we left (why does she do this?). New LCD televisions and ostensibly fresh paint and carpeting. The room felt new, which is a testament to maintenance and housekeeping…and member dues! This is a ground floor 2 bedroom villa with a “wooded” view. It was at the end of the hallway, so it made for a long walk from the BC lobby, pool, and common areas. The trade-off was that it was super quiet…I’m not even sure if we had any other neighbors on that wing. The ground floor villa had no view to speak of, but again the trade-off was that I didn’t have to worry about my kids running and jumping and disturbing the neighbors below us. We could see and hear the Illuminations fireworks (partially obstructed view). It took us a day to figure this out, but we realized that if we left through the back stairway door (which was adjacent to our room), and followed the outside path along the Beach Club rooms, that we could be at EPCOT in less than 10 minutes.

This was a surprise trip for our kids in celebration of our 9 year olds birthday. We ordered a specialty cake through Cape May that was pricey, but well prepared and quite delicious.

This was our first trip to the Beach Club (we’ve stayed at BWV, OKW, and VWL) and our first impressions were quite positive. The pool is fantastic as advertised. The pool bartender makes a nice banana colada if you ask for it…just have them add some banana puree to their pina colada. We enjoyed the character breakfast at Cape May (we usually do Chef Mickey’s) and the dinner seafood buffet was surprisingly good. We had reservations for breakfast and for one of the dinners. We showed up a little after 5pm for the 2nd dinner (the dinner w/o the ADR) and waited 20 minutes for a table which I think is more than reasonable. Beaches and Cream was good. We had very slow service during lunch, and satisfactory service at dessert…and some great sundaes. Didn't try the kitchen sink, but wish we had.

Overall we encountered very helpful and courteous cast members at the Beach Club. Transportation was good EXCEPT the bus service back from Animal Kingdom. The bus stopped at Blizzard Beach, the Dolphin, the Swan, the Boardwalk, and the Yacht Club prior to stopping at the Beach club. The weather was hot and seasonable. We experienced light rain on one day…I told the kids it was the WDW Misting System…it actually felt good.

One last note on bugs, as reading these boards got me a bit concerned about lovebugs during this time of year. This was a complete non-issue. By the way, why aren’t there more mosquitoes?:confused3 Heavy spraying? As for lovebugs, we hardly noticed any of these amorous nuisance bugs. On the first day we saw one love bug all day. As the week progressed we saw more and more, but it never got to the point of a nuisance.

Let me know if you have any questions while the trip is still fresh in my mind.

It sounds as though you had a lovely trip. It's always nice to have a clean and updated villa, and I have to admit, I've been fortunate in that respect.

I've stayed at the BCV a few times and the 1st time had a ground floor villa. After walking in and around the resort to get to the villa, and it's quite a treck, I finally discovered (on day 4) that if I went in the other direction I was right by the parking lot, my car and the entrance of the resort! :rotfl:

Thanks for the TR!

Ok I was too embarrassed to include it in my trip report but we did the exact same thing! It wasn't until our last morning that we realized the "shortcut" between the parking/bus area and the villas. Everyday we walked through the front doors, through the lobby, and back out to the villas. I'm glad to know that we are not alone. This does remind me of one complaint. The placement of the smoking area between the villas and BC lobby was a bit unpleasant.
