I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the walk from the BCV to SAB is very long. We'll have 5 kids with us and I was just wondering how far it would be for the little ones. Is there a room I should request to be closer to the pool or does it really matter? Also should I ask for a top floor or would the ground floor be better? :confused3 This will be my our first time staying at BCV and I am really excited. We will be taking my DB and his family so I really want it to be special! :)

Its not extremely close but not issue for adults and older kids, maybe very young may be an issue. I think someone just measured all the pools from the DVC resorts (maybe they will respond) and depending on the room locations they all can be pretty far away-some require a bus even. Its worth the effort regardless.

Almost ever thing at Disney involves walking some.

Request a pool view. If you exit by the quiet pool and walk through the valet entrance of the Beach Club, through the lobby, it's not a very long walk at all, and the end result is more than worth it.

It seem extremely long walking through the lobby in my bathing suit! :teeth:

Boy, is that a true statement! Fortunately, the walk is worth it (especially if you get a nice cover-up) ;)

In general the lower the room number, the closer to SAB you will be. But no rooms are that far in the WDW scheme of things. There is no bus from BCV to SAB. ;)

You also do not need to go through the lobby proper to get to SAB.

Pool views at BCV are not necessarily any closer to SAB than woods views, etc. The Ariel courtyard views are very close.

Have a great time but be aware that SAB is large and spread out... I would have a very concrete plan for who is responsible for watching the younger ones at the pool...speaking as one from a family of five married to one of twelve. In his family, it is sort of assumed someone will be there....not a good plan at SAB.

Thanks everyone! I guess I shouldn't be too worried, we'll be doing alot more walking at the parks. I think the kids will be so excited to get to SAB that they probably won't even notice if it's a little ways! :goodvibes

OK, I give. How? I remember someone telling how there was an exit near the BC elevators so you could exit before going through the lobby, and walk outside of it. I haven't been to BCV since I read that to give it a try. Is that what you were talking about?

Yes, Lisa. That is it and I could have been the one to post it before. The door is by the restrooms. You end up on the same main porch and sidewalk outside the BC as those exiting directly from the lobby but you don't need to go through the actual lobby.

:thumbsup2 I hate that lobby walk all drippy wet, toting kids, and never seem to have brought enough coverup to feel comfortable.
