I have reservations for October for the BCV for 2 studios, BUT I really want 2 beds in each. Seeing that this is not possible at the BCV, does anyone know if I can make my reservation for the Yacht Club, (which has 2 beds)? Or am I now tied into my points being used at our home resorts only?:confused3 :sad2:  Thank You for any help. :flower3: I get confused sometimes when I call our member services. They talk as if I know (or should know) all the ins and outs of my points.:headache:

You can cancel your DVC reservation and use your points to book the YC - but....

Your points cannot be returned to your DVC account - this is a one way deal. Cancelling will be even more restrictive.

You'll find that it takes far more points to stay at the YC than it does at BCVs.

I looked it up for you - standard view at the YC will cost you 39 points a night - 70 on the weekends. Up from there if you want a different view. You are paying 12 points a night for your BCV studio - that's a lot of points for a bed.

If you really want studios, and really want two beds...all OKW studios have 2 queen beds.

If I were you, I would:

a) leave the reservation as it is.

b) reserve 2 studios at OKW instead.

c) transfer my points to another DVC member for cash, then use that cash to pay for 2 rooms at the YC or BC (if I could find a great deal or discount for rooms there). I would also consider booking rooms for cash at the Swan/Dolphin or Boardwalk.

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

I would advise that you do learn the ins and outs of ownership as well, because that is the only way you will know if your points have been used as you request. You might want to explore the members area of the DVC website and read your information from when you purchased. If there is something you find confuses you, then come back here and ask specific questions much like the one you just asked. Peruse the point charts for not only the DVC resorts, but also the different collections like the Disne collection, so you know the ins and outs a bit better.

I agree with the above. You might consider a 2 BR dedicated unit if you can get it. Only a few more points and a lot more flexibility. But even if you had to get 3 studios, you'd be a lot better off than using points at the YC.

I'm glad you got the dedicated 2 bedroom, however, you still don't have 4 beds, is that OK?

If I understand this I will have 3 beds now.? My sister can sleep with her daughter in the king bed. Then I'll have 2 beds in the other room. Can anyone tell me what a dedicated 2 bdrm is compared to what a 2 bdrm lockout is?:confused3 :wizard: Thank you so much. When I made the reservation she confirmed quite often that it was a dedicated room:confused: :flower3:

There are 3 types of 2 BDRM units at BCV. The 2 BDRM lockoff is a 1 BDRM with a studio attached - There is a king size bed in the master bedroom, a queen size bed and a pull out sofa (full size) in the other bedroom and a queen size pull out sofa in the living room. Then there are 2 types of dedicated 2 BDRMS. One has 2 queen size beds in the 2nd bedroom and the other has 1 queen and 1 full size pull out sofa in the second bedroom. Both of these rooms have a king size bed in the master bedroom and a queen size pull out sofa in the living room.

If you need 2 queen size beds in the second bedroom, you have to make sure it is noted on your reservation.

Yes you must make sure it is a dedicated 2 queen of which there are about 25 rooms. The difference is an extra closet in the second bedroom instead of the kitchenette area, and no outside door from that room.
