We just got back from the BCV Sept 11-14 (our first trip home) and I have to say the staff there were very friendly! We got several "welcome homes" from the staff. One CM saw me holding the check in packet and came right up, said welcome home, asked if there was anything she could do for us. Maybe its b/c we dont have any other DVC resort to compare it to? But I have to say the CMs were more friendly there than our last trip to the Poly (concierge) 01/04. (We were every year visitors for many years while DD was growing up. Always stayed on property, need the whole Disney experience...)

Our 1 br villa was clean, cleaner than I expected due to less frequent mousekeeping. It showed some signs of wear (ripped carpet at threshold to master bath), but no worse than what Ive seen at the Poly.

We were disappointed in the Cape May. It used to be an every trip for us, but we havent been in a couple of years, and the food in MHO had slipped. Food was tepid, and the clams were full of grit. California Grill was good, we liked the new check in system, less crowded up there. It was a splurge for our 24th anniversary, the mgr came over and wished us happy anniversary which was nice. Watched Wishes from our table, pretty magical! Also ate at Yachtsman Steakhouse, I think that will replace Cali Grill in the future, the food was awesome! (DH isnt such a fan of foo-foo stuff, give him meat and potatoes...) We mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary this trip, and they brought out a complimentary plate of cookies for desert, which we thought was a nice touch. Glad we got our DDE card, its getting a workout!

Bus and ferry transportation was great, a short wait each trip. Only problem we had was getting back to BCV from the CR after dinner. We left about an hour after wishes was over, but still had a mob scene trying to get back home. Walked to Epcot, but didnt find the shorter path out of BCV until we were home and studied the map. Oh well, next time!

I cant say enough how happy DH and I are to finally be members. To have such a beautiful room waiting for you at the end of the day is a treat. The jetted tub was great for DH's aching back. We even slept in one morning, knowing that we will be back in Jan. The funny thing is, I have wanted to join for years. DH wouldnt hear of it. Now I think he is even more excited than I am about our membership!

Thank you for sharing your wonerful experience. Personally, I think that the BCV is the best of all the DVC resorts because of the decor, location, nearby activities, quietness from the hustle bussle, pools, and access to BC & YC facilities. We love the place, glad you had a nice welcome home trip. Some night, try sitting out on one of the porch swings they have set up on the beach and look across at the BWV. Glad the staff and cleanliness were up to your expectations. Very nice report.

Glad you had such a great first experience. We love BCVs too and are very happy we waited for them.

After CG, did you walk over to the MK and catch a bus?

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!!! Can't wait to go back!

Thanks for the review. I'm so glad you liked BCV. I think it's the best too! Did you see Art the greeter? Eat at Beaches and Cream?

Thank you for taking the time to write up your BCV experiences! BCVs is my "home" and I love to hear positive experiences about it! Glad you had a great time and ITA about YSH! Great food and a great atmosphere!

We took the monorail to the MK after dinner at the CR, mistakenly thinking most of the crowd would be gone by then (over an hour later). I think maybe ppl have caught on to the wait a while trick, and now its pretty busy even that much later. One lady on the monorail next to me was stressing out about how later the busses would run from MK back to their resort, saying that if its only an hour, they might have already missed the last bus. Any thoughts about a better route from CR to BCV for next time?

We missed Art the Greeter, I looked for him but we mustve missed him. Didnt make it to Beaches and Cream, but we hope to get there in January. Also missed out on the gelato, too full from our fabulous dinners, but maybe we can squeak that in for Jan as well.

This is what makes DVC so great - there's always next time! :goodvibes

Thanks, sounds like you had a good trip. :Pinkbounc
