BCV, BLT or VGF - Thinking Aug Sept Oct UY

Thanks for this. Stalking the BCV at 7 months would be me exactly!

@CastAStone I appreciate your comments as well. So, from what I understand, find a BCV resale to lock in use year and then add a small direct contract later (if I decide I need blue card benefits)?
Yes. There is no stalking Beach Club at 7 months from September to December; it’s gone.

From reading what you’ve posted I don’t imagine you’ll ever “pay for” the blue card benefits. At Beach Club in particular this is important because the resort is so expensive (direct) vs the number of years left that buying direct doesn’t particularly save you much money vs continuing to pay cash at Disney, assuming you regularly get the 25% or 30% discounts they frequently offer. If you are already buying 4+ annual passes every year and will continue to for some time, maybe, but if you are going once per year, IMHO you’d be wasting money to do anything but buy resale.

If you love BCV, buy BCV. If you think you'll always be stalking it at 7 months and you have spent most of your past vacations there and want to again, buy BCV. Otherwise, there's a good chance you'll regret not doing so and Disney/DVC is too expensive to not be happy with where you are staying. Direct is expensive, though, so I'd recommend resale, unless the direct benefits are really going to make a difference for you financially.

Personally, SAB is my favorite pool, and I kept debating the idea of buying at BCV. The challenge is we're not a huge fan of the theming, but we love the Wilderness Lodge. After some soul seeking, we decided to buy there because it's where we really want to stay -- we are content with getting a few days whenever we can at BCV, but we'd be really unhappy if we could never get to stay at BRV/CCV (or AKV), and realized that we'd be setting ourselves up for disappointment if we didn't buy where we really wanted to stay.
