I wish I was going. I have a few things I would like to say to them about the maintainance of BCV. We recently stayed in a 2 BR at BCV for 8 days. There were quite a few stains on the carpet and furniture, even some good sized chunks out of the sheetrock on the wall. The mattresses were definitely ready to be replaced. The carpet was really worn thread-bare in a few places and the tack strip was exposed at the metal strip that separates the master bedroom carpet from the master bath flooring. Unfortunately, DH discovered it the hard way, with a tack right into his heel. We covered the area with a towel for our duration. We were on the go so much, I didn't report it at the time, but called the resort after we returned. They said they would get the tack strip thing fixed. Said nothing about the stains and sheetrock repair that was needed.
My husband was so disgusted with the condition of the room. He said that if the rooms had looked like this during our first few visits, we would not have purchased two add-ons. He said he purchased Disney because he believed the resorts would be the finest quailty and be impecably maintained. After all, Disney has a reputation for maintaining high standards.
We took my brother and SIL for their first visit to WDW. They were impressed anyway and decided to take the tour. They asked me to go with them. I mentioned to the guide that I felt like
DVC members were being treated like the proverbial "step child" and that I suspected that the Beach Club "proper" would not be allowed to become so rundown. However, I do remember seeing some bad stains in the hallways of BC and those shingles are still missing on the resort. What's up with that??
The dues on my BCV points continue to go up, but the quality of the rooms goes down. And that's not right.
I'm going to send a letter or email to DVC to voice our concerns. Does anyone know who I address it to?
