Not Disney-related, but we're taking my mom on an Alaskan cruise in May 2022. Since she's a worrier, she's already started fretting about getting the necessary covid test for travel.

She'd need an antigen, with the appointment able to be booked in advance so that she knows exactly when she's getting it. Duncan, BC vicinity, or within a reasonable drive, and preferably as cheap as possible.

Anyone in that neck of the woods found a good source for cheap-ish testing?

Thanks!

I’m not sure specifically about Duncan, but the BCCDC website has a list of places that do travel testing. You can shop around for the best price

Thanks, I've seen that list. I was hoping for some first hand experiences, since not all testing sites are created equal...I've seen a few horror stories posted here, and I'm hoping to find my mom somewhere where the process will be smooth and successful.

I’m going to Bon Voyage Medical tomorrow is Coquitlam. I’ll post about my experience afterwards

There is a testing facility in the Nanaimo Airport. It is a little out of the way but we plan on using them for our trip in November.

Please do! This is the place we are hoping to use in November.
We used Bon Voyage Medical today for our rapid antigen tests. There were 5 of us getting tested and all went smoothly! They sat us all in the same room and did our swabs one by one. They were really professional and we had our results emailed to us in 30 mins! From my experience today, I recommend them!

Oh that's fantastic!! Thanks for following up!

Is she sailing out of Vancouver? If she comes in a day early you can have it done here.
I‘m also using Bon Voyage, in Coquitlam. $110 for antigen. They also have a location in Richmond near the airport.
Originally I had an appointment with Integrated Health for antigen $80, but just received an email from them that the clinic had to close for 2 weeks, probably an outbreak. I’m flying next Thursday and they recommended Bon Voyage so I made an appt there.
Good to hear positive feedback for them.

Sailing out of Seattle, so needs to test on the island before her flight. Just trying to find somewhere easy and cheap. The search is impressing upon me how spoiled we are in Ontario with the easy access to Shoppers $40 antigen tests.

I’m in Shawnigan so I feel her frustration. I think the one at Cassidy (Nanaimo) airport is closest but there’s a clinic on burnside in Victoria that looks reasonable and good.

🤦‍♀️ For some reason I thought you were coming into Vancouver! Yes you are spoiled! I don’t know why the Shoppers test isn’t national. It should be! We are very jealous!
