On the one hand you're absolutely right. Anyone should be allowed to complain about anything they like here.Amen to that!! I get so tired of hearing Dis members being told that they have NO business complaining about an incident they had while on their trip to the world. I had no idea that we were only allowed to discuss things that were positive about their trips, not the negative points. Give me a break.
You'd be wrong, too. While writing WDW to complain is fine, there's nothing wrong with telling others about her experience. I wouldn't hold my breath that Disney would do anything in response to the letter, either.
This is a discussion board to discuss the good and the bad of WDW. The OP has indeed accomplished something productive and constructive--she's let other mothers of teenage girls know that only the 3 hairstyles are available and that they should consider that before forking over the money. I wouldn't have wanted it done either at 13 or 14, but my kids grew up going to Disney and they go back to "silly kid mode" when we are there so they like doing things like BBB while we are there. No, they wouldn't do that stuff in normal everyday life, they are all kinds of cool at their high school, but at Disney they feel like little kids again.
I grew up in south Florida and went to Disney many, many times (hundreds, even), and I still would not have wanted to do this as a teen. I sang the song rides, danced along to the background music, but no way would I have wanted a BBB experience. And, yes, I was a girly-girl and definitely NOT a tomboy.
Everyone is different and while some teens think it's dorky, my super cool teens think it's fun, so to post a blanket statement, "BBB NOT for Teens" is simply only an opinion.

.Not saying Disney will reply to her... but to say Disney won't "do anything"? Oh, they will. The letter will be forwarded to the Leadership team of the BBB, who can address the issue internally.
Just because you don't see something being done doesn't mean nothing is.

And I'm tired of people talking about sweet little girl's who go to BBB looking like sluts - give me a break!
I think they all look adorable!
. I just wish it had gone better for us.You'd be wrong, too..

I guess I should have titled this thread "BBB not my MY teen"
In my own defense, I did do additional research about what was available for my DD. That was my whole reason for calling customer service, I was told the FGIT could do something else for my DD considering her age. Had I known the truth, the appointment would probably have been cancelled. I also knew the FGIT were not licensced beauticians.
When I saw my daughter I kept my opinion to myself because I thought she liked it. It wasn't until we were out the door (and I didn't storm out) and at the wishing well when she told me she hated it and that it hurt so much. (Also, I have had to put my DD's hair into a bun many times for dance, and a nice, smooth bun does not alway hurt, but it has a tendancy to look like it is extremely tight due to the amount of gel and spray you can put on it.)
I was sad because I knew she didn't like it, and she was sad because she knew we had just wasted so much money.
I didn't intend to open a can of worms, I guess I just wanted to get it off my chest. I will let Disney know of my experience and the misinformation from customer service.
Some people ride space moutain and love it, while others hate it.
Some people have great experiences at the BBB, and others don't. I guess we fall into that category.
And MichelleVW, your girls look adorable. I just wish it had gone better for us.

Just returned from mom/daughter trip for dd's 16th b-day. Everything wonderful, except for trip to BBB in the castle.
Was on the fence about the appointment - considering her age, the hairstyles in the brochure seemed too juvenile. Several days before departure, called customer service about this - could my daughter have something else done? "Absolutely! We have girls of all ages get their hair done. We have girls that come to get ready for prom!"
Flash forward to the appointment, daughter is in the chair, and fairy-godmother-in-training informs us they are only allowed to do the 3 hairstyles in the brochure. The manager is called over and she apologizes for the mix-up customer service has made. We were assured that they could fix the hairstyle so my daughter would look appropriate.
Needless to say, the stylist (for lack of a better word) did nothing to make my daughter look her age. My daughter could not see was the stylist was doing (the clients are turned away from the mirror) and so could offer no imput. I did not get a close look until everying was finished. I paid the $50+ and left very disappointed.
We walked straight to the wishing well, and she made me undo the whole thing. She said she hated it, it was ugly, and she had a headache from how tight the lady had pulled her hair into the bun.
I could have cried. Wasted money and wasted preciouse time in Magic Kingdom![]()

I wish there was something I could do.
And for a company renowned for it's customer service, their mistake is not acknowledging that the customer had a problem. Customers have no reason to believe that anything is done if a problem is not acknowledged or if they receive a vague "thanks for writing" letter.
