I will have a 4.5 year old daughter and a just turned 7 year old son on our trip this fall. I'm really wanting to do BBB with our daughter as a surprise, and I wanted to get my son in on the action, too. I'm torn on which to do, the knight's package at BBB or Pirate's League. Have any of you done both? Any others really love one or the other? Looking for advice.
It's a double perk if I can get them booked at or near the same time.

At 7, my son would have been embarrassed to do the knight package. He did the Jake package at PL and DD did the mermaid package. They had a great time. You know your own kids, so I would go with whatever suits their personality.

This is exactly what I wondered! Exactly the advice I needed!! Thanks!

Funny to see the differences in kids. Four years ago, I offered Knight's or Pirates to our three boys. At the time, they were ages 4, 10 and 11. They unanimously selected the Knight's Package because it was a chance to do something fun and special in the castle without going back to CRT. They loved it. They loved the swords and shields (which continue to live on and survive battles in our house - 4 years later.) And the end result (the gel with mickey confetti) was more their style and more long-lasting than the pirate look. They had a great time. But as the previous poster mentioned, it really depends on their personality.

Pirate's. At 4 my son was embarrassed post-Knight. Loved the sword and shield, but the foam ones (if that's what they give at WDW) are available on their own.

The mermaid was awesome even on my ancient self. :)

My 6 and 7 year old loved the knight's package because it was inside the castle. They have big curly hair and only got the Mickey hair confetti, no gel. My 6 year old was bummed with his grandfather picked out his confetti the next day. They still play with the swords, too. I only did it for prepark opening entry and they were in and out and we were 2nd in line for 7DMT. With lots of empty pre opening pictures.

They enjoyed it. I didn't want to do pirate's because I didn't want the face paint in all my pictures. Plus, we live near the Bay and there are always pirate festivals so I felt we could do that anytime.

I really wish they would offer a Prince package!

We're doing both as my MIL is treating my DD5 to BBB the big package, she wants to do the knights package for my DS5 too. We have appts. for Pirates league a couple days before that so they'll have both experiences. I don't know how DS will do with BBB but we want to get him a prince charming outfit. There are prince charming tshirts online and paired with maroon shorts it just might work for hot september. Their BBB time will work nicely as its before our ADR at CRT. Just hope he doesn't get bored waiting around for his sister to finish.

We've done Pirate League twice. This summer we are returning to WDW and doing BBB for my daughter. I asked my son which he preferred, Pirate League or Knight's package at BBB. He chose Knight's package for something different. :) We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for all of the replies! I'm so torn! I'd ask him, but this trip is going to come as a huge surprise to our kids. (We just went last September, and to their knowledge we are on the 5 year plan... so this will not be expected.) I dressed my son up as a prince for an Akershus breakfast last year and it was awesome. The point about not having face paint in all the pictures is a worthy one too...

I don't have any sons but we have done both PL and BBB with my girls and both times we had a better experience (and cheaper) at PL then what they had at BBB

I agree with PP. My daughter was more thrilled becoming a mermaid at age 9 than BBB at age 7. Also easier on her hair. She is going to be twelve and she wants to do the PL again. And me and my teen boys enjoyed the whole experience she had at PL. We did the fireworks cruise that night and she enjoyed Captain Hook and Peter Pan commenting on her being a mermaid. But my boys never wanted either experience so it really does depend on your kids personalities and preferences.

I agree with previous 2 posters. My kids (1 boy, 2 girls) did PL and BBB last year. ALL of them preferred PL by far, even my princesses who walk around the house in their princess dresses daily, curtsying and calling each other princess so-and-so. We made a day of each of the things, so on BBB day we did breakfast at CRT, met A&E, met Rapunzel and Cindy, and did BOG. On PL day, we met Ariel (for my mermaid) and did the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise. From my perspective, PL is a better deal and a better experience, and it seems that my kids all thought it was a better experience for them as well.

I dunno the Knights package looks kind of lame...as a boy at heart I would much rather do the Pirates League!

If the knights package maybe turned you into a prince for the day it would be cooler, it just looks like gel and a sword and shield.
