Hello, has anyone in a wheelchair stayed at Bay Lake yet? I have visited WDW many times and of course have found very little issues as far as accomodations go but just wanted to get a heads up for my 2010 X-mas trip. I am curious about the lounge and walkway to Contemporary in particular but any opinions/facts would be helpful.

Thanks.

We are DVC members but have only visited friends staying there thus far. The walkway is fine for w/c's and to get back/forth from the Contemporary. I didn't find any accessibility issues at BLT and we toured the entire area.---Kathy

Thanks for responding, dclfun.
From the pictures I've seen, it looks really cool. Because of being just built, it would need to comply with all accessibility requirements.

I am not in a wheelchair, but when I stayed at BLT I didn't note anything in the walkway or the lounge that would present an accessibility issue. We had a great stay!

Thank you to all of you for replying. I know that BLT is a new build and does have to comply with ADA, but it is still nice to hear from those who have actually experienced it. WDW has always been my favorite vacation destination for many reasons but the biggest is how great they are with those of us who are disabled. I'm looking forward to my trip this Christmas, I have never been to WDW during the holidays but have always seen it on tv and dreamt about it. This year my dreams truely will come true.
