Hi there! First time poster, I have been trawling the pages to get this info but couldn't find it so apologies if it's been discussed before.
My husband and I are hoping to visit WDW later this year but are limited to certain dates, and to get a room at Art Of Animation (looks lovely and for our dates the price is right!) the only problem is the only accessible rooms they have here are with a bathtub rather than a roll in shower (when we can travel.) I can't get in and out of a bath but could manage with a bath board or seat if appropriate. I know something of this sort is available but no pictures exist (to my knowledge! Haha) of it online - could anyone shed any light on what kind of over or in bath seating is available?

Many thanks!!! :tink:Xx

Welcome to the disABILITIES Forum! There are various types of "accessible" rooms at WDW resorts, some with tubs and handrails, others with roll-in showers. Bathchairs are available on request first come first served but there are limited quantity, and may not be the exact style you prefer. I suggest looking into renting from offsite. Care Medical Equipment rents them, you can find a link in the FAQs thread pinned near the top of this forum.
Enjoy your vacation!

Thanks very much for your reply! We'll have a look on that site, renting something seems like a great solution if WDW don't have an appropriate seat :) thanks!

A while back someone posted that she hated the bath seats provided by disney, she felt it was very unsafe. others had no problems. Apparently they use a few different models, so there's no telling exactly what you'll get. If it's not too pricey and is something you must have, probably better to rent

Ah that's good to know. Yeah it's a necessity as I can't stand to shower or get out of a bath, we have emailed Disney aswell asking what models they can provide and if they have pictures.

I have taken a bath bench - which comes apart for travel - on the plane many times. They do not charge for this because it is handicapped equipment.

You may want to enquire about an adapter for the tub spout for a hand-held shower wand as well. That might make using the tub/chair combo much easier.
