Great update Brook! I love being able to take the boat. It's fun to have a little relaxing ride and be off of your feet for awhile.
My last trip was the first time I had ever done the Backlot Tour too and I thought it was pretty neat! The costume shop was my favorite part. I love seeing things behind the scenes.
Henry in his manpris is adorable! He's getting to be such a big boy.
I agree with you about the boat! It's so relaxing and enjoyable.
It was very cool to see actual workers designing things on the Backlot Tour. I really enjoyed seeing the scene and prop shops since that is what I did years ago when I was involved with theater. From the reviews I have read sometimes you'd see an actual show being filmed when you rode it, so I can see how that would be incredible! Too bad they don't have that still.
So many great updates! And so many adorable pictures of Henry. He is so stinkin' cute. I have not tried a carrot cake cookie yet. It is on my to do list for June.
Thank you!

It's unreal how much he has grown since September too.
The carrot cake cookie is delish! It seems it's one of the favorites from the Writer's Stop.
This is a great TR!

I am loving it!

Your son is adorable!

And I love the manpris!

Thank you! Aren't those manpris hilarious? My Mom got them for him and she laughed so hard the first time she saw him in them!
Ah you proved my point with your ride on the Backlot Tour: everyone should TRY everything at Disney at least once!
Love the buses.....I think that's what I'll get for Liam as a gift from my January trip. Thanks for the idea
Exactly! I've read reports of families actually enjoying Sounds Dangerous even!

There is something for everyone!
Your welcome on the idea! He'll love them. They are really cute. The only thing I have to say negative about them is that the rubber on the tires come off easily. Henry went through a phase recently of putting things in his mouth (again!) and he gave me a scare a couple times with them. However, the tires are teeny, so they might not even bother a toddler if swallowed.
Looked like a great morning at MGM, er I mean DHS Brook. (I hope it stays that way, you hinted that maybe your luck would change.)
Woohoo! You rocked that picture!
I've done the tour before, maybe the last time was in '01, but I don't remember that PT boat section where the guy gets hit with the huge wave. I've seen it on a lot of reports, but I don't remember seeing it myself. You'd think I'd remember that!
That's the way I look when my wife lets me buy something too.
I was thinking that in some earlier pictures. "Those shorts are almost pants!"
I love this picture!
I thought you might appreciate that FP pic.

I actually did it throughout the trip because I liked yours so much and it was an excellent reminder of exactly what we did.
The water scene is supposed to be from the movie Pearl Harbor--so whenever that came out is probably when they added it. Doesn't seem that long ago, so perhaps it wasn't there when you did go. It's pretty intense, but Catastrophe Canyon is the best part.
Great update Brook! I actually enjoyed the Backlot Tour when we did it too, but we've never done it again, not sure why
Henry looks so stinkin' cute with his buses, I wish my kids were still at an age to be overjoyed with such a simple purchase!
The picture of him disappearing in Sulley's hug is too funny, how great that the photographer captured that.
And, check out Henry, graduating to the big kid slide on the playground, go Henry!

I agree, that playground is too cute. We've only been in there once though, the boys were 9 & 4 on our first trip and they had a ball in there, but the next time at ages 10 & 6 they weren't even the slightest bit interested in it
I know before I know it Henry won't be entertained by 3 Disney buses for $10, instead it will be some $100 gaming system.
Oh boy! SIX and he didn't want to play?!?! Eeeeeeek! I better treasure these last few visits in the next few years! I will force him to stand with Zurg over at Buzz Lightyear until they take him away, but I can't force him to go down a slide.

Maybe he'll humor his Mom though...wouldn't that be a hoot?
I think there may actually be a few things (very few) that I probably won't ever get to just because my kids are too old. Like that fantastic playground where Henry seemed to be having the time of his life. Ahhhhh.... well, maybe when I get to be a grandma.
I have to agree, that picture of Henry "hidden" in Sully is just too adorable!! What a fabulous shot!
ETA: Both times I've done the BLT, have been duds. The first time, some college kids acted like buffoons, and were goofy to the point of ruining it; the second time, the ones who got chosen were like animatrons and didn't do anything. It was just sad.
Yes! When you get to be a Grandma you'll have to take your grandbabies in there and run wild with them. Or, perhaps on a future solo trip you can have a DIS meet there.

Good excuse to hit a slide or two!
I was really happy the Photopass Photographer captured that hug with Sully! It was a sweet moment.
That is too bad about the Backlot Tour! Our actors didn't do anything either, but it was hilarious! Just something about the way the director handled it and their VERY delayed reactions.

I would love to be chosen for that sort of thing, it would be a blast!
Awesome update.
When did the backlot tour become so cool? I will confess. I have only done it once and that was years and years ago. Probably around a time when my kids were small enough to enjoy the "Honey I shrunk the kids" playground. Now that's a long time ago. Almost went on the tour in May, but never made and well, September - we only spent a couple hours in HS.
Maybe some of the east meet west girls will want to go there in May. I am seriously going to take some pics.
You are the second person I've heard rave about the Writer's stop, so I must stop in for a visit.
Ah - lovey the bus. How cute! What a great purchase.
Also - I had no idea they made so many different buzz lightyears! Very cool!
No idea when it became cool!! From what most people say it's terrible compared to what it used to be, but we liked it! You'll have to give it a try again, you will capture some awesome action shots I'm sure! (and there is a possiblity our trip will be delayed into May--so if we end up there the same time as you, I'll ride with you!)
The Writer's Stop is just cute inside. It looks like a true coffee shop. There is a little bakery case, a few tables, it's cozy. I wouldn't mind spending some downtime in there with an iced mocha and a book. Of course that won't happen until the 3 year old is at least 13....
Super Awesome update Brook!! WOWzers what a great time was being had at DHS!!!!
Can I just say I also love the Backlot Tour and I would love to be one of those volunteers I would so OVERact that scene!! I would be divebombing on the boat and screaming, it would be so much fun!!!!!
Oh my beloved Carrot Cake Cookie, how I will enjoy you again in such a short time LOL!!!!
Henry is just adorable! I love the photo of him and Sully when he gets swallowed up...how cute was that!!!
Me too! I would LOVE to be picked to act out that scene! It would be so fun! I am thinking we'll hit the Backlot Tour again this coming trip, just seeing all my pictures again made me want to be there.
Maybe it was you who recommended that cookie? I just recall reading about it in someone's TR and it looked, and sounded, devine...and it was. Yummo!
Sully was very cute with Henry, so was Mike! We'll probably be meeting them again on the next trip-it was a great meet!
