Tomorrow the Red Sox will play their final game here in Boston. I have such a hard time with baseball season ending, as it means colder weather and winter pressing in. UGH! I want to stay barefoot with windows open, and the sound of a Red Sox on the radio. It doesn't help that I dislike football. Anybody else going to miss their boys of summer?

My Astros are hanging on by a thread. Voodoo hex on St. Louis!!! Go Astros!!!! After the Astros, I root for any team but the Yankee$.

I am very hopeful the Cardinals will be playing A LOT of fall ball! Just a little step closer today. But even at that I will miss summer too.

At least there is still, some baseball for some of us. After that's all over, it means more time on the DIS!

ITA :thumbsup2 ...with what you have said...!!!!! :thumbsup2

Thankfully I get at least another week but I definitely agree with you. I hate the cold and football. The playoffs just make the fact that it is no longer summer more real. :sad2:

Fortunately it's not over yet for us Yankee fans! I do agree with what you said about football, I absolutely cannot stand it. Once October is over, it's countdown to spring training.

I agree with half of what you said. I'll miss the Sox! :( Even though we didn't get every game, we got enough of them to keep me satisfied.

As far as winter coming... :rotfl: When we moved here I started thinking of October through March as summer. Much easier to take with warm days and cool nights. I feel like I live in Australia. :teeth: We've just started getting a taste of the best time of year down here and it's fantastic.

My biggest disappointment this year was that their season started out so good and then collapsed after the All Star Break. Still there were some outstanding moments...

David Ortiz

Doug Marabelli's police escort to Fenway. :rotfl2:

David Ortiz

Papelbon's amazing streak of saves.

David Ortiz

Johnny Pesky's ceremony the other day at the Pesky Pole.

Padro's first appearance at Fenway since he was traded.

David Ortiz

The return of Johnny DEMON. :furious: :teeth:

David Ortiz

Coco Crisp's flying catch.

Mike Timlin's late season outings. :confused3

And, let's not forget.... DAVID ORTIZ!!!! :)

Only 4+ months until Spring Training starts. :woohoo:

Go Astros! We need some help from the Cards with a loss! I would love for the Astro season to continue! :cheer2:

I'll miss the games as well :guilty: But, I'm a big Patriot's fan as well, so, now I'll be able to watch them with no other distractions :goodvibes We're going to go to Red Sox Spring Training in March, so it's not so far off til we see them again....

Oh & everything Virgo said!!!

::yes::

Disappointing as it was, I'm looking forward to spring training. My ds who lives in AZ and is a huge fan also, is SO excited, the Sox are playing the D-backs next season, so he is already counting the days til tickets go on sale so he can go see them out there. Can you believe we will open up against KC? that is odd....and still will have the regular line up of sessions with the Yanks.....

I'm hoping for the Twins in post season at this point..... :goodvibes As far as the Yanks are concerned....let's hope

since the playoffs don't start until tiesday, my boy sean green doesn't have to worry about missing a playoff game to observe Yom Kippur this year.

I just want it all to end so the Simpsons can have their halloween special in October. :thumbsup2

My dh thinks differently, though, and loves baseball....

I meant to post this here and posted it on the thread that is following the post season games.
It only took me a half hour to realize my mistake

Not over for us TWINS fans yet!!! Quite an end to the regular season for us yesterday, with the division title on hold until AFTER we won the game! With 30,000 fans staying over after the end of the game to watch the jumbotron and see the final of the Tigers/Royals game, it was quite an exciting day!

See you Oakland fans in the Metrodome tomorrow, and maybe by weeks end, we can be headed to NY for the AL championship series! ;)

i am praying for a Dodger/Yankee series match-up on the 25th anniversary of the last one. And the same outcome, of course. :thumbsup2

With "Missy1961" at WDW, I quess I have to be the first Mets fan to say:
:cheer2: :cheer2: Let's GoMETS :cheer2: :cheer2:
