That is the question!? My DD is 35 inches tall (tall enough to ride Goofy's Barnstormer) however, she is only 19 months old....she'll be 22 months when we visit WDW. Should we take her on the ride or is she too young? I say lets go for it, but DH is a little hesitant. Your opinions please!

I would wait another year (or two). My daughter, who will turn 4 in March, is 41 inches tall. She liked it, but it definitely took her breath away. I rode with her, and it is a lot faster than it looks from the ground. It is very short...but packs a little punch! :)

My son was 6 on our first trip, and didn't like the Barnstormer. It was weird, because he is an adventurous sort who sleds, skis, jumps off the high diving board...
But who knows, she may love it!

It really is a fast moving little roller coaster. My son is 5 and thought it was a little too fast. Of course, this trip, he decided to be afraid of just about every ride!:confused3 Oh, and if there's a line, don't bother! It's waaaaayyyyy too short a ride to wait too long!:rolleyes1

i was wondering if there is enough room for a mom and 2 little (i mean 4 yrs old and 35pounds) twin. i know like alladin we all could ride together
thanks

My 4 year old son and I went on it and boy, is it a fast moving snappy little coaster! I ended up keeping my arm around him tight most of the ride.

Okay, so which one is more jerky...Barnstormer or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad? DS3 might be tall enough by the time we go to ride Big Thunder, but he is tall enough with inches to spare for Barnstormer. He loved the kiddie coaster at Dutch Wonderland last summer...wondering if this one is similar to that.

It has been quite some time since I've been to Dutch Wonderland. The Barnstormer moved fast enough to sweep back our hair for a majority of the ride (as shown in all the pictures our family took!) and had banking turns. Hope that gives you more concrete things to compare. Maybe more like a moderate version of the Trailblazer at HersheyPark without the fancy stuff?

Oh wow, I used to love the TrailBlazer when I was a kid! It was the biggest coaster I went on. How does it compare to the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad? I hear they are similar in thrill level.

I'm trying to remember how old my nieces were the first time they went on Goofy's Barnstormer, I'd say the youngest was probably 2 going on 3. They absolutely LOVE it! And they love going on with Aunt Mare because I always "scream like a little girl." LOL

The Barnstormer is really quick at the beginning, I don't think my 21 month old DS is ready for it.. But you know your child best!!!

My then 4 yr old love it but hated Thunder MT. We even saw Goofy riding it first thing in the AM, it was pretty cool.

My son was 22 months when he first rode it and Loved it.
When we went in Dec (2007) he is now 4 and loved it again. The best part....We rode it once with no wait first thing in the morning....won dream fast passes as we exited the line, got back in the non-existant line, rode again and since there was no one there....we won a second dream fast pass.
Needless to say, we love the Barnstormer.

For our first trip last April my DS then 4 rode the Barnstormer and LOVED it!! THen when we went back in Nov he was 5 and just made it for height for Big THunder Mtn and let me tell you the first time that trip he rode it his hands were in the air and he was laughing all the time. He had to go on that one at least another 3 times since there was little to no wait!!!!!! I would think that 22 months may be a bit young. I would probably let mine see it and then see how they react it to. I think that is what I will probably do with my 23 month old when we go in March.

I just took my big 5 year old on this for thr first time in Jan. and it was really much faster than I thought it was going to be...he was fine until the first turn and you could see his face change...he says he thought he was going to fall out!! You know your child best though!! The only bummer is that he know it was a "roller coaster" so now he calims he is never going on another one again!!

Does your DD laugh when she is "zipped around" in the stoller? Does she get a big kick when DH swoops her around, or does she lose it? The Barnstormer moves and is a quick ride. It was our DD's 4th birthday when we took her on GB. One caveat we told her was, "she could scream as loud as she wanted on this ride".:scared1: This really got her excited. She loved the ride! We rode it at least 4 times during our trip. Outside of meeting Cinderella, GB was her favorite thing at WDW. :woohoo:

It seems like my dd first rode it when she was 23 months old (in '05). She loves it. It's her favorite ride. Our trip in January was the first time she rode BTMR and she adored it. Nothing can really be fast enough for her though. She adores big hills and speed!:goodvibes

If you think she might like then try it. It's over REALLY quickly, like seconds so if she is afraid it will be over in nearly the blink of an eye.

On our last trip in October, we had planned on skipping the roller coaster rides for our 3 year old DD, including the Barnstormer, even though she was more than tall enough at 40-inches.

However, during a side trip to Universal IOA, she begged to ride the Flying Unicorn (she loves unicorns). Being a roller coaster fiend, I was excited, but the DW was less than thrilled. After a minor debate, won by the pleas of the DD, we climbed aboard the front car and away we went. We ended up riding it eleven times in a row, much to the amusement of Universal staff.

After that, we let her ride anything she wanted as long as she met the physical requirements, including the Barnstormer and Thunder Mountain Railroad. We also found out she loves to ride the Tea Cups with me and wants me to spin it as fast as I can. My wife refuses to ride with us now.

DD3 absolutely loved it on our trip two years ago... we rode it once in the afternoon, and then towards the end of the day DW was flagging a bit and needed a little sit down, which was making DD a bit cranky because she was tired also and needed stimulation.... so I took DD back and we rode it three times in a row, including the front row, and that seemed to give her enough adrenaline to keep her going 'til the end of Wishes :)
