I've been using the Bare Minerals Foundation for about 4 years now and can't imagine using anything else.....does anyone know if any of the make-up artists use this for weddings in WDW???
Thanks!!!

I too am a Bare Minerals user! I adore it and would use nothing else!

I don't know the answer to your question but there is a Bare Minerals store in Orlando at the Florida Mall. Maybe you could call them and they can refer someone?

This is a bit off topic, but I've been tempted to try bare minerals, so I'd love to hear more from you ladies who use it. How is the coverage? I don't use a ton of makeup, but have some rosacea (redness) in my face and am always looking for something that will do a better job hiding it. Also, it seems like bare wonders would do a good job reducing shineyness on the nose?

What do you really like about it, and are there any drawbacks?

Thanks!

Jen

I was diagnosed with acne rosacea shortly before I tried it. I was using clinique's really heavy stuff ( I can't remember what's it's called). I've been using bare minerals for over 4 years and I am a total adict. I was very skeptical but it really does cover and it does everything else they say it will. I swear my skin is better. My DF thinks I don't even wear make-up it's so light. The other thing I like about it is that a jar will last you a very long time.
I also use their night stuff called rare minerals. It's pricey but it works wonders! I never get breakouts any more with it!
I'm a big fan!

I love bare minerals and that is what I used for my wedding though my bridesmaid did my make up - do you have a bare minerals or a sephora near you where you could go in for a make up lesson?

I wanted so bad to try Bare Minerals as I would see it on QVC all the time. (I'm a QVC-aholic!) So for Christmas 2005 I asked for the "starter kit". They sell them online at Sephora.com. It came with all the necessary essentials for start up use for about $60 or so. I have been addicted to them ever since!! I would definitely give it a try.

At first I was also skeptical that it wouldn't have as much coverage, and I do have to admit, it doesn't cover completely as much as liquid, but it's still very very good. One of my problems in the beginning was finding something to use as a concealer. You can't use a creme concealer at all with the bareminerals foundation because the powder won't sit on your face correctly. So I did some research and found that Bare Minerals had some products that I could use for concealer even though that's not what they called it. I use "Well Rested" and sometimes "summer bisque" to cover my redness and dark circles under my eyes (with the special brush, you absolutely need to use their brushes!!) and then I use the foundation over the top. I also now use their other products like shimmery eye shadows and blush.

They are great products, I would say if you have some problem blemishes, to buy the starter kit and also do a little research on their website or sephora.com and buy one of the "bisques" to use as a concealer. "Well Rested" and summer bisque both have a yellowish undertone that helps cover up red.

Good luck, you'll be an addict in no time!

To the person who posted this original message, I wish I knew someone in the Orlando area who specialized in Bare Essentials. I would take the advice of one of the others who suggested to call the Bare Essentials store in the Florida Mall...they're bound to have a suggestion or contact.

I can't survive without well rested and the concealer brush!

If you are getting married on a hot day I would recommend that you put a little mineral veil on first, then foundation, then more mineral veil. It works beautifully!!!

Swirl, tap, buff.... and buff some more!

I'll second the "bisque's", they really cover well. I'm amazed how well BE covers and I even got my Mom to try it and she's got rosecea and the light does a great job for her.

I went to try bare minerals, and didn't really like it! :( I thought that it made my skin look too dry. Maybe the guy did it wrong, but he was a makeup artist who used bare minerals pretty much exclusively. I can't really use powder foundation, though, because it will emphasize "fine lines" so I think. I use liquid with a dusting of loose powder to set.

I was bummed because I'm totally entranced by the BM commercials, lol. I want to buff away my freckles! :rotfl: I don't have dry skin (combo skin), but guess bare minerals is not for me... :( so sad...

I'm sure that any makeup artist would do your makeup using it, if you supplied it to them. When I was younger I suffered from acne. My dermatologist said that I could only use this one type of Neutrogena foundation. When I hired a makeup artist to do my makeup for our engagement party, I told her about my situation, and she was fine using whatever I supplied.

I have used bare minerals for about 2 years! swirl tap and buff! haha. I hope you find someone to help you for the wedding. if not, could you just do it or have a bm help you or something? I did my own makeup for my wedding b/c I'm super picky and know what I like on my face adn would probably hate what someone else did. lol. god luck!:thumbsup2

I have dry skin and BE works great on my skin. A bit of dry skin showed earlier this winter when I'd put on mineral veil so I stopped using in around my mouth for a short time. Moisturize and lots of buffing and it should look great.

I love BE--I'm a QVC buyer--but the first time I had mine done was in a BE store in Philadelphia and while I wasn't immediately impressed with the guy who applied it or the job 'then' by the time I was back at my hotel I LOVED IT. I'm hooked, my mom is now hooked and it's fabulous. QVC has some great deals

Swirl-Tap-Buf! My favorite is the quad eyeliners and the foundation :) they last ALL DAY!

Good Luck Cryssi--maybe it was the guy who applied it??

have you considered doing your own makeup? that way you can use whatever products you like. I'm gonna be doing my own makeup. I'm a little picky about my face and people touching it, especially my eyes. ok, i'm a freak, you can say it... I'm fortunate to work in a salon so I'm getting a makeup lesson on how to apply the makeup myself and then can do it when I get down there. Just a thought....

I think I'll try the BM store at the Florida Mall to see if they have anyone there.....I would rather not do any makeup on myself and no one else I know uses the stuff, so I'm not sure they can either!
Worse case scenario, I do my own foundation and let the make-up artist do my eyes and stuff....that's where I need most help!!!

I did my own for our wedding and it was just a little heavier than a normal day-so that it showed up well in the photos--it's easy, especially if you do your makeup every day.

Best of luck! I'm sure you can find someone to do it for you though. Maybe call a Sephora store and ask for someone who might do applications on the side?

That's so funny! I HATE people touching my face - the thought alone makes me cringe....I probably ought to do it myself!

My mom uses Bare Minerals and loves it.. I use MAC and I love it... So I have heard great things about Bare MInerals

I'm a Bare Minerals user too! (As a matter of fact, I have my just-delivered box sitting in front of me on the table!) I was a bit scared of the make-up artist thing too! I know my skin is better when I use the Bare Minerals, when I try something else, including Clinique, I break out! But, my Wedding planner uses Bare Minerals too, and she said using the MAC make-up doesn't break her out especially since this is just one day, and she said it looks great! Ana with Beaute Speciale is a MAC make-up artist and she told me to book her. I did and I'm not at all scared now! I'm sure that the make-up will be beautiful that day and I'll bring the Bare Minerals just in case! Good luck trying to figure it all out! I'm sure you will!
