Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

Hi everyone... guess what arrived today - our Save the Date cards!! :woohoo:
The trimmings should be in the post soon too - planning to take a 'study break' from my accounting revision at the weekend to put one together.. of course I'll take a photo to get your opinions! :goodvibes

Also had an email from a school friend of mine today, she lives in Africa now but is coming back to England in September, for her wedding!! Very excited; I am planning to invite her to my wedding too although I don't know if she'll be able to come over to England next June.. I hope she can!

The guestbook frames are great. My brother had one at his wedding and it turned out so nice. I like the decorations for the save the date cards. they are cute.

I love frame idea and the Minnie Wedding pen sounds really cute :goodvibes Those butterflies are lovely and will the diamante :goodvibes

I just had my bridal shower and my mom and maid of honor gave me the bride minnie pen! it is super cute!! Love all your ideas!

Thank you for the comments ladies.. I'm really pleased with the frames and can't wait to get the pens :thumbsup2!

Hi
Just started reading your PJ. Everything sounds great!! I am very envious of your trip to NY!! It is my dream to go there. I'll make it one day!!
Just wanted to say (although it is totally irrelavent) that I was born and bought up in Surrey - the Carshalton area, and my daughter now lives in Guildford. When I lived in Salisburry, and I guess I am talking 15 years ago :scared1: I used to work in the Southampton Disney Store. My daughter now works in the Guildford Disney Store.
Love all your planning and will be following along :)

Hi thank you for reading along so far!
Wow it is a 'small world after all' isn't it?! :cutie: ... I wonder if I've spoken to your daughter in the Guildford Disney Store - all the CMs are sooo friendly in there; I had a lovely conversation about Princess & the Frog, Up, WDW etc last time I was there! :thumbsup2

Oh I love the frames. What a GREAT idea. I have seen the Mickey bride pen. Not sure of a groom pen. I will look when I'm there in August. If I find some, I'll get them and "post" mail them to you. I agree the frames are nicer than a guest book. Unless you enhance the guest book with photos to make it into more of a scrapbook, you won't see it much. I don't think I even know where mine is. Although my wedding album and honeymoon scrapbook are right there in the corner bookcase.

I'm so sorry that the mean ol' volcano that nobody can pronounce has delayed Verity's trip to Florida. Glad she got going at least. It could have been worse.

Enjoying all the details.. and yes... you can't plan too early!!

Thank you Mindy!!
Lol my parents are going to WDW this Wednesday (without me :sad2: hehe) so I might ask then to keep an eye out for the pens :bride:
Verity got on the first Delta flight from Atlanta to Sarasota yesterday morning - so in total the journey took over 30 hours lol :scared1: but at least they are there now.
The weather looks fabulous there at the moment, my Mum said it's about 88 degrees :cool2:

Oh i love the guest 'book' picture frame, do you mind me asking where you got it? i was not planning on having one as there aren't going to be that many at our wedding and was worried i'd have too many blank pages but that looks a good idea espcially with our smaller guest count. Love the idea with the Minnie bride pen, deffiently think you should pick one of those up.

Glad your sister arrived safely in the end, shame such a long delay to get there though.

Hi Stefy!
I've not been to a Confetti shop yet - I think there is one in Reading which isn't too far for me to go ... and there is a Disney Store too! :rolleyes1
Is there a Confetti in London too?

The butterflies & diamante arrived today :woohoo: :woohoo:- the people I work with (mostly men!) didn't seem very excited by my StD card trimmings, but it made my day hehe.

Yeah there is one near Tottenham Court Road. Coolbeans that you got one in Reading, you should so go, esp as theres a Disney store there too :teeth:

Men don't get as excited about things like that I'm afraid, but at least it made your day and that all that matters :goodvibes

Hi!
This is a bit OT but as I can't post it to my completed Dec'09 TR..

another DISer, khertz, was on the same Keys to the Kingdom Tour as my sister & I during our trip... we didn't speak to each other then but I had noticed her lime green mickey Dis tag on her bag!

So.. she's writing her TR at the moment

and just got to the KTTK tour..

hmmm who's that to the left of the photo?!

Oh isn't that the worst?! Like, you know that at any given moment someone is in WDW, but you actually know someone who is there, it makes it seems like it actually IS a real place and you want to be there!!

yup!
especially with the time difference.. at about 2pm here, 9am in Florida, I was thinking "they'll be at Animal Kingdom now.. walking towards the Tree of Life on their way to Harambe for the Kilimanjaro safari" :rotfl: !

I'm expecting my Dad will log onto Skype when they get to their Boardwalk villa soon.. at least I'll get to see WDW 'live' !!

I have a good friend who is a cast member at Ft. Wilderness. When I see his posts on Facebook it makes me so.. "home":lovestruc sick for Disney. I keep telling him how lucky he is to have worked there for 21 years!! Imagine getting up and going into the World every day!:goodvibes

Sometimes when I get up, I think, just about now there are people in their resorts getting ready for their character breakfasts and sometimes I think of all the people racing at rope drop towards TSMM or how great it would be to be sitting in an outdoor table enjoying a cinnibun at Starring Rolls Cafe or at the Bakery on Main Street. 90 days and counting!!but whose counting?:rolleyes1 I really need to get my reservations pinned down. I am just waiting on Debra to let me know if she can also book our beach hotel near the college for our two days at the college before we arrive at Disney on the 11th sometime after we're done with the whole "all day" parent orientation session. I really hope its not as boring an excruciating as the 2 day all day sessions we had to do at George Mason University when my oldest started college.:scared1:

How cool that you are in another Disers TR :)

I hope your parents and Verity are having a good time in Disney, you spoken to them yet? I know how you feel knowing someone you know is there and that you are going to be there soon. But just think all this waiting will make your trip all the much sweeter when you are actually there and in the meantime you can live vicariously through them :)

Hi, Emma! Remember me, NY friend?? I didn't realize you were doing a PJ and am excited to follow along :-) Always here if you need any more NYC advice! I love your guestbook idea-- so much nicer than a book that just gets put on a shelf, never to be looked at again.

Hi Stefy!
Yup I spoke to the family a couple of times while they were in WDW (my Dad takes his laptop when they go there as DVC members get free internet use!)

I picked Verity up on Sunday from the airport, she had a great trip - although she has p.d.b now (post-disney-blues!) :sad1:

Hi!!
Thank you for joining in :goodvibes - I'm sort of doing a PTR in this thread for our NYC and WDW trip too, can't wait - it's getting closer and closer!
Thank you for the offer of New York advice - so far I've read and Eye Witness guidebook on the city and there is tons of things we want to do, could be tough in 2.5 days

Sorry for lack of updates lately - got my exam on the 27th so I'm trying to stay focused on it.. but soon I'll be free for summer & wedding planning!

Btw it's 13 months today until the wedding :cloud9: !

Emma princess: x

Aww bless her, glad to hear they are having/had a great time :goodvibes

Wow 13 months, I bet that will just fly by :)

Emma, first off Congrats on your engagement !:woohoo: I just caught up and am excited for your journey. My DH and I were engaged 2 years to the date before we got married and the time just flew by, so the big day will be here before you know it!!! Just another note, I order the Disney vacation planning dvd every year 2 and know all the words... I wish they would start to change it up a bit!!:confused3 Anywho can't wait to hear more and oh yeah my DH and I will be in Disney almost the same time as you guys in Dec we are going the 16th -23rd, so a small overlap. We are really excited to see Disney around Christmas time!! yay Subbing!!
