Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

Oh you should definitely to do the segway tour! It was such fun!! Just remember to do not do the tour after 9 o'clock because it's 2 hours and WS opens at 11. If you do the 9:30 tour, you'll still be riding around WS when that part opens for everyone. :thumbsup2

Glad you are enjoying the sunshine, hope it lasts :)

A Segway Tour sounds like fun, are you defo going to do that?

How awesome that you get to go to Disney twice! December should be a nice time to go. As for the restaurants you've mentioned, I'd pick Kona and Jiko over Ohana and Yak and Yeti. I've never eaten at Jiko but Yak and Yeti was blah, when we went back in 08. I don't know if it's improved but the only thing good about it was the mango pie (which you can get at the QS place). If you're interested in planning some of the NYC places, check out opentable.com. You can pick NYC and then it divides the restaurants into neighborhoods. It's meant for reservation but it has info on the restaurants and often links to their websites and menus. And when you get closer, you can book reservations.

I think so... I already had it on my 'maybe' list of things to do, and now that DF's said he'd like to do it, makes me want to as well! He doesn't really take part in the planning stages of WDW vacations (happy for me to plan it all hehe!) so when he does make a suggestion then I'm always pleased and like to include it!
I've read too that we'll get 15% discount on the Segway tour with our annual passes :thumbsup2
I think we'll go for the 8.30am one - not too early but we'll get that extra special time in an empty Epcot! :cloud9:

Thank you for the tip on NYC restaurants! another website to spend my lunchtimes at work on :surfweb: hehe!

DF and I had lunch at Y&Y in Oct'08 - we really liked it then but I'm thinking Jiko might be better idea as we're going to stay at AKL for one night (hopefully!) before our cruise departure the next day.. so it'd be like a 'preview' of the resort!

Btw I am hoping that this volcano ash cloud over Europe goes away very soon so that it doesn't prevent my upcoming trips from happening! ;).. can't believe there's been no flights in England since Thursday  - I feel soo sorry for people who will have had their vacation plans disrupted this weekend :sad2: .. crazy nature!

Sounds like a plan, nice and early and then by the time you finish WS should be open :)

Your NYC trip sounds awesome :) Jiko is a great restaurant, but I also prefer Boma over it. I enjoy buffets and the nice thing about Boma is that there is such a variety for everyone to pick from and no one really leaves hungry. The food however at both locations are just amazing...so either would be good. Also, the Kona Cafe is amazing for Breakfast. I usually order the Tonga Toast, which is stuffed french toast. :)

I love the sound of your trip in december, New York & Disneyworld when all the christmas decorations are up just sounds like heaven. I'd love to visit both places at christmas time

I'm off to NY for the first time in june (as you noticed before :)) and im so excited to finally get to visit, like you i've seen it so much in films & tv shows it will be amazing to finally go there, i'd love to visit at christmas time but I was put of doing it for my first visit because I HATE the cold and was worried i wouldn't get to see all the tourist sites in december so, hopefully after this visit coming up I can return at some point just to see 'NY at xmas'
I've noticed you've been to WDW in december before how was it? how was the corwds & weather? this is another dream of mine and im hoping we will get to go in December 2012 as we'll have annual passes from our wedding in april 2012. I'd love to see disneyworld with all the decorations up and the christmas shows/parades, i won't be disapointed will I? I did Disneyland Paris in december 08 and was ermm well not filled with the same magic feeling I got from WDW.

Your plan for your trip sounds great and the hotel looks lovely, I hope you'll do a TR as i'd love to read all about it :) espcially MVMCP & that sleigh ride :lovestruc:santa:

You reminded me to order the planning DVD, I know im two years too early for my next trip but I really fancy watching it and I can't find my one from back in 2005. Plus I can force DFi to watch it and fingerscrossed he'll start to at least look forward to visiting.

WDW in December was fantastic last year! (TR link is in my signature, not sure if you've already read it before? :goodvibes) - we went 9th-14th December and the crowds were minimal, our biggest wait times were for Primeval Whirl (I don't really like it but my sister loves it!) and to meet the Up! characters at DHS :rotfl:
We were worried about crowds because the second week in December is often Pop Warner week (lots of tweenagers around for cheerleading/football tournaments at WWoS) but it was fine!
The weather - most days it was mid 70s - cooler in the evenings, but we didn't need more than a hoodie/cardigan with short & tshirts... far better than the UK in December!

Hope your copy of the DVD arrives soon! I order it every year, I love watching it so much :rolleyes1 !

I did read your TR last night (really enjoyed it) and made me even more determind to make a trip Dec 2012, the decorations were gorgeous and you had shorts on in december can't ask for better than that haha.
How long did your DVD take to arrive? i can't wait to watch it :goodvibes

It was really quick - about 4 days I think! :wizard:

Thank you for reading my TR! It was really fun to write up our holiday - re-live the magic! :santa: I've recently ordered paper & accessories so I can (finally) make my scrapbook of the trip lol.

Hey Emma!

So Tom got home early today and told me that he stopped for a pulled pork sandwich on the way home at this place that has the BEST BBQ! I thought of you immediately! "Oh, I have to tell Emma to eat there!" I ate there once for a friend's bachelorette party (hen party, did you call it? ;)) and LOVED it.

It's right near your hotel and I think you would love it too! It's called Brother Jimmy's BBQ. There are a few locations around the city but the one near Penn Station is, I think 32nd and 8th, maybe? I'm not positive but definitely in close walking distance from your hotel. Here is the link.

If you are looking for some good American food, that's not like a Fridays or something, you should definitely eat there one night! They have delicious drinks too! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for this Nikki!! Pulled pork sandwiches (we call them 'pork baps' lol) are one of Steve's favourite things! Just looking at the menu now.. looks great! Peach Punch - mmmm!
I'll add it to the vacation planning spreadsheet :surfweb: !

Hey emma,

Just catching up with your plans, New York at christmas will be so cool. Think I mentioned before how much I enjoyed the the Radio City Christmas Spectacular on my birthday trip, it was amazing!:cloud9:

and we went for breakfast at the starlight cafe (near Times Square I think) where the waiters and waitresses are trying to get into broadway and every half hour or so they break into song on top of the counters!
for my actual 21st birthday we went to a sort of dinner show called 'Lips' where the waitresses are Drag Queens, food average but such a funny memorable night out! never seen my nana laugh so hard ( and it was very risque!)
we also did ellis island (v interesting but probably wouldn't go back)

any exciting purchases you have lined up? Tiffany's visit in order? :cutie:It will be really cool to have the contrast in temperatures as well!

Even though the planes are flying the volcano is definitely a bit worrying!!!:scared1:

hope the revision is going well! I passed my audit mock but pretty sure will fail the rest :sad2:

Hi! Thank you for the NYC tips... lol I can't imagine DF going to that 'Lips' place, but sounds fun! :rotfl:

We are definitely planning to go to Macey's, 5th Avenue & Bloomingdales (Steve keeps saying that line from 'Friends' .. "my Mom calls it Bloomies!") - lol not sure if we'll be buying anything in Tiffanys - definitely some window shopping though :cloud9: !

I'm sure your mocks went fine! well done on Audit :thumbsup2
Today I read the last three chapters of my syllabus before going to college next week - all about tax :scared1: it's my worst accounting subject as last time I studied it - I failed the exam twice which meant I lost my job! it was tough at the time but I love my new job sooo much more & I think it was fate that made me fail it..... accounting exams are still boring though :rolleyes1 !

Hi everyone!

Thought it was time for a little update -

As I'm among other obsessive-planners here, I know none of you will find it odd that ... I've started buying clothes ready for my December trip - and the honeymoon! :rotfl:

I thought that if I buy things gradually over the next few months, it will make the total cost much easier to budget for... I've also set up a separate little savings account which is basically for honeymoon clothes & toiletries for DF and me!!

Also, there's a big trend in the shops here this season for nautical style clothes, which I think will be perfect for the Disney Dream cruise - might as well buy them now, right?!

I have all of these stashed in the bottom of my wardrobe for now, but thought I'd share with you guys!

So... December trip

I bought this jumper dress to wear on the day that we travel from NYC to WDW - I'm guessing it'll be a huge weather contrast, so I plan to wear this with black leggings & boots.. then swap to flipflops when we get to MCO :woohoo:

I found this really cute Minnie tshirt in a shop this week (New Look) and couldn't resist, I also bought a mint coloured vest top to wear underneath it (as I'm 25, not 15!!)

Planning to wear this in the parks one day with denim shorts... probably MK or DHS.

Yesterday I popped to the Disney Store in Southampton, and bought my theme park bag!

DSC02015.jpg

Although it's a kids one, I really like the colour & it's made of water-proof fabric - a mistake I've made with my last few theme park bags lol.

These are books I'm currently reading!

DSC01994.jpg

(strategically left on the bedside table so that DF is reading them too :rolleyes1!)

continued... onto the Disneymoon clothes !

I bought this vest top as it fits the nautical 'theme' lol - this is the back...
DSC01998.jpg

This is a possible outfit for the day we arrive at Port Canaveral and board the ship :goodvibes

DSC02009.jpg

White strapless top with a 'skort' - looks like a skirt, but are actually shorts! they have a sailing boat motif on them.

This is a top I bought from disneystore.com and had shipped over - I had two made in different sizes, I gave one to my cousin who recently got married - and kept one for me!

DSC02007.jpg

This is a pretty top & some bangles, could be for cruise or WDW day time..

DSC02008.jpg

and another daytime top...

DSC02010.jpg

a ra-ra skirt for a night out in MK or World Showcase maybe! ...

DSC02013.jpg

I absolutely adore this dress - I'll probably take it on vacation this summer (Barbados with my future in-laws!) but really it's for honeymoon.. it could be worn to Palo, Remy, V&A's.. who knows! :cloud9:

DSC02006.jpg

and another evening dress, it's a really light fabric & lovely detailing on it..

DSC02011.jpg
DSC02012.jpg

That's it so far! A lot of the items were on sale so I'm so glad I bought them when I did :goodvibes
Oh - and I better stay a size 6-8 (usa 2-4) until the Disneymoon now -otherwise nothing will fit! ;)

And while I had the camera out.. here's my pin lanyard!
DSC01996-1.jpg

I've yet to trade any - I like them all too much! Maybe next trip....

Great purchases, loving all the Cruise clothes, nautical is so the way to go and great that thats the style out right now.

I totally get buying now, as you're right in that it makes it easier to save up for spending money etc later on. Great idea on the separate savings account too :thumbsup2

LOVE all the new clothes! I totally do the same thing! I bought for a year and a half before the honeymoon! Everywhere we went, I would announce to DH when I found something, "Cruise Casual!" Old Navy had a lot of nautical stuff at the time so I went with that theme too!
