I just got back for WDW and a friend that is a true DM had a great tip we used. We got there just as they opened and went straight to the Barber Shop to the left just as you enter. Look for the Barber pole!
The cool part was after our boys got hair cuts they let them choose a color to use as gel in their hair then added "fairy dust" that was mickey foil confetti sprinkled in it and pressed into a mickey head they added to the back of their head with the gel. We has so many complements and it was a real memory for the boys. It easily washed out when we got back to the hotel that night and I have saved the confetti for the scrapbook of this trip!

We took my dd2 for her first haircut there. She still loves to tell people "Mr. Salvador ... haircut!" Salvador was wonderful -- gave her bubbles, stickers, and a Buzz Lightyear to play with to keep her distracted while he cut, and then she got a first haircut certificate and mouse ears! Plus lots of pixie dust , of course.

I have to say, that at $14 bucks (the ears alone are $7 retail) it was a great deal! Even with a tip, we ended up paying $20 for a great first haircut experience, complete with souvenirs. Well worth it ... especially for the 3rd kid who tends to have less photo ops on her own. princess:

We do this every year... our two boys get hair cuts, and then colors with pixie dust... last year our older one got his hair half red/ and half blue with coordinating sparkles... they both love the attention & compliments they receive... it's a fun time. We kept some of the pixie dust for our books too !

Sure do.... We (adults) didn't get a trim, but they did do some pixie dust into my pony tailed head for me... so exciting.

Have fun.... Just remember the line gets pretty long, I would try 1st thing in am if you have small children... :wave2:

What about for girls with long hair (just past shoulders) - I heard once that they did french braids and pixie dust - does any one know if that's still the case? I'd like to bring my girls for something as this sounds so unique. Can any one advise please?

We have done this several times for DD & DS. The kids love it.

CdnDisneyer: Our 11yo DD has slightly longer than shoulder length hair. She got streaks of red put in her hair and then pixie dust sprinkled on. After putting her hair in a ponytail (w/ her own scrunchy she had with her) she had a red mickey head put on the back of her head.

"big kids" can get their hair cut too. MY DH had a desperate wish/need to get his hair cut. I led him to barber shop and watched him get trimmed and dusted. My friend and I just sat in corner and laughed our butts off and took pics.
