We are new members who will be "going home" for the first time in November. A quesiton has come up in our meal planning about grilling. I know the individual rooms do not have grills but are there grills anywhere on the property that we can use?

You didn't mention where you were staying, but a few of the DVC resorts have grills.. BWV and OKW for sure...

The only one that may not would be AKV because of its proximity to the animals...

BCV, SSR and VWL do as well. So I guess that covers all the WDW resorts, with the exception of AKV.

Is there a protocol for reserving them? What about charcoal, tools, etc. (I assume they're not gas?).

First come, first served. You provide any and all needed supplies and accessories. Other than possibly Fort Wilderness, I don't think they sell charcoal on-site.

I am 95% sure that you can buy the charcoal in the villa stores. I believe it is the kind that you just light and don't need any fluid. I know I have seen it there in the past.

AKV doesn't, currently, but there is a spot on the plans for Kidani village, near the pool, for a BBQ area.

We grill all the time at SSR.:wizard:

They have grills (actually BBQ Pavilions) in Congress Park, The Grandstand, Carousel and The Paddocks.

The Community Hall has BBQ tools for checkout with a room key and the Artist Palette sells MATCHLIGHT charcoal for around $6 a bag.

That's great information. Thanks!!
