Banned until 2015 also!:(

My sister got a message from VMK last night saying they were banned. Then they also got some message about some computer trouble. Then today, after contacting them, she got the message that they were banned until 2015!
The thing is none of them have any idea of why or what could've happened.
The last one on at her house was her eight year old, and he can't imagine what was said. How many 8 years old do most of us know that would understand what they could've said. He'd been playing with another kid from our church, but had left him and was surfing from room to room. He kept getting booted, and did remember asking at some point about why he kept getting booted.
Other than that they don't have a clue. And, of course the usual trite, pat response from VMK was to check a certain page for possbile answers to question! Naturally it was no help whatsoever. Sheesh!
I've told her to at least bombard them at least once a day, with more emails to them. I know they've spent enough money in the past few years to warrant a better customer response than this.

Yesterday my freind Bond got banned until 2015.And so did MiniParis!

Mini got banned for impersenatimng staff.She was with Kinka,who has ALL of the staff parts.Mini wanted to dress lik kinka but she has no saff parts.So sje dressed in red.Then she said"I look like a red staff"and got banned until 2015.

My gosh vmk needs to chill out!

I do have one question, though. I know you can contact VMK through their homepage, what kind of address would be a direct one to Disney themselves? I know they like to say on their FAQs that each staff member was especially picked for that position, but I think they've done a pretty poor job of picking people who have no discretion.
It may be a free game, and I've held my tongue many times on here about some of their poor gaming events and pat responses, but I've seen so many banned lately for extremely silly reasons.
If they keep it up, any of us could get banned for just being there at the wrong time.
I read about the other kid's banning, both here and on the 'other' board, and her's was stupid as well. What if someone else had asked her if she looked like a staff member? You never know what someone else will ask you ahead of time.
I suppose we should all be fortunetellers if that is the case.

VMK is really cracking down on players, if my Tiinkerbelle account gets 1 more report I'm banned so i'm switching all my stuff to my other account, you try to help people with there questions that are a little bit bending the rules and they report you just for fun. VMK is not made for people like that who just go around waiting for you to say something not in the VMK rules so they can report you it's not right.

My sister has tried getting all of them on, but no one works now. So I reckon it is an IP ban. Which is so ridiculous. I spent several minutes in one room one night watching over my nephew because another kid was being extremely rude to him, then to other players. I even took one screen shot just in case. And, as far as I know, they never did anything to that kid. But, if an 8 year old inadvertently says something, they ban everyone at that address! It is such poor planning IMHO. It's almost if El Quaida did their personnel training!
If nothing else, they should be willing to at least prove what happened by being willing to share that log. Nothing like being convicted for something you haven't even seen the proof of......!

Well I just talked to my sister, and her son finally realized what had happened. He didn't want to think that that was it apparently.
Somebody asked him in one of the rooms if he was VMK staff. He tried to reply that no, he was not staff. Unfortunately, being 8 years old, and working with a slow DSL connection, he accidentally typed without putting the 'not' part.
My sister is going to contact them again, and put their case before them.
Now we have to see if they have the maturity and brains to understand that an eight year old doesn't always manage to get their thoughts across, especially with the minimal vocabulary that VMK lets get through.
I don't know about anyone else, here, but I know there have been times when I managed to type in the wrong thing (without the red blinking going on) and had to correct myself. We can only hope that common sense will win out....

Meanwhile I've warned my ds to be especially careful if someone asks him that question and any others of personal nature. He said he'd just go ahead and boot them right off of the bat!

That is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. A ten year ban for a mistype. I really really REALLY hope they actually read your email and do something about it. that is beyond unfair. Even if he WAS impersonating staff on purpose, which he wasn't, TEN YEARS???? He will be an adult and probably in college by then! Come on! How about a few months, VMK?????

i agree, i told this girl i had gone to disneyland before and hope to go soon and she reported me for that and i got banned for 2 hours!! then my second ban was a warning for trying to help this girl out by saying boys smell so she wouldn't be as sad and if one more person reports me i'm banned for good whats so wrong with those things?

Do they just beleive what people say when they report, or do they come talk to you and find out what happened? Someone who does not like me b/c they can't get what they want or is mad at me for booting them may decide to get revenge and report me for no reason. Can they do that?

that can't happen, but sometimes when a player is really rude and not following rules they will say not to abuse the report button. i reported this boy because i was shocked on the word he said and VMK lets people say that, the d word and they said not to missuse the abuse button!

Well I talked to my sister earlier and she did send a message back to them, but may not hear from them, due to some message timed out thing. However, she has decided upon reading some of the replies here and on other posts that she may let the ban stand. Both of us are still ticked off that they put so much emphasis on silly things, basing them on real worries, i.e. not letting people put ages and stuff, but when we see and read about the sex things going on and that what they are letting stand with obvious bans on their part, that it is ridiculous in the extreme. She really doesn't want her kids continuously bombarded by others with the sex thing. I know VMK supposedly wants kids to be protected from that sort of thing, but we aren't seeing that in the messages that people are posting about. And, again I've personally seen others being downright nasty to ppl, but they didn't do anything to them.
Her point of view is that she really doesn't think the youngest one is at the age yet of running across this subject. Of course the oldest is at the age when questions are rampant (I've got one of those at home, too, he's only a year older), but she doesn't think a possible continuous exposure to it is the thing at this time.
She will occassionally let them use her computer at work or our parent's computer to get on, but she can usually be around them better, or during the summer, all of our kids will be wandering in and out watching each other on it. Nothing like an older sister or cousin to tattle!
So you may not be seeing a lot of Singersnow anymore, maybe during summer and weekends and holidays. (And, she AIN'T happy about it, either. )


I do want to say though, that the disboards have been truly on the up and up with her kids the whole time they've been playing, and I do appreciate all of our good friends here.

Thanks Sis for sticking up for us.

My kids have truly enjoyed VMK, and they are very good kids if I might say so myself. I teach them to be kind and respectful of all people not matter who they are, how old they are, or what there beliefs are even if we do not agree with them. Singersnow and Nozzlehead are very up set about the ban and I was also and have e-mailed them several times, but has many of you know they will give you the run around. I do think we discovered the offence and I do understand that VMK is trying to protect the children.

With this all said I'm not sure whether I will pursue the issue further because I worry that maybe VMK is getting a little to adult. My son is only 8 and will have plenty of years left to deal with adult issues but I don't want him to deal with them now. I do know it that it is not just adults using this as a shall we say "pick up joint" but the fact remains adult like things are going on in the virtual kingdom. I watch over them while they play, my sister watches over them and even some of you have. Maybe I will calm down over this after a few nights sleep I don't know. I do know I don't want to have to take this thing my kids love away from them. Thank you all, you are truly a great bunch of people.

Well I talked to my sister yesterday and she had some interesting emails from VMK staff. The first was a head scratcher. It said they had received their email, but they couldn't verify that she was the account holder, and she would have to sign in (or something to that effect) as the actual player. I don't know about most of you parents, but how many of you signed your kids up under some stranger's email?
However, the second, which she almost missed, from VMK April, said that the ban was lifted! They must've finally actually read an email. However, as of yesterday afternoon she still couldn't get them on at home. So for anyone who has gotten a 'lifetime' ban before which was later revoked, how long did it take before you could get back in?
