Banned for 10 years / Indefinately

Early Monday morning i got banned for scamming / attempting to scam another player. So, could any of you at DIS do me a favor and find out who it was?

I have narrowed the list down for you and conveniantly listed their last known whereabouts, so they could very easily be found and questioned.

1. Ned - shrunken head shop
2. Captain Blackheart - Pirate tree house
3. Esmerelda Fortune teller - Emporium
4. Yeti - The Matterhorn
5. Maleficent the Dragon - Dungeon
6. Gus - Haunted Mansion
7. Ezra - Haunted Mansion
8. Phineas - Haunted Mansion
9.) Music Game - Empty

These are the only players I saw on that day and they are the NPC's.
I received 20 credits from each NPC, not a credit more nor a credit less.
So which one was it, i was supposed to have scammed?

Since there are eight of them to question, i realize this may take quite a while and they are pretty well set in their routines so it may prove difficult to get the truth out of them. They just repeat the same routine over and over.

I know it will be hard to make one of them crack and fess up.

Maybe if enough DIS'ers group together you all could play good cop-bad cop and find out which one of these NPC players i was scamming on?

Omg king! I know you wouldn't scam someone, because i've tradede with you. This is really stupid, it's probably yet another whining kid saying this cause they aren't getting what they want. I'm trying to think why... Did anyone ask you if you would trade your inferno, or commment on your stuff?

King were you really banned? This is outrageous if you was. I love how you are taking it by the tone of your post but its not fair. I know you are not a scammer. Want me to write VMK and tell them (And others too?)

I wont even allow a random trade window to be open any more now that I keep hearing of these false charges happening.

Just so you know, in my opinion, Kingsfoil is the least likely person on VMK to ever scam anybody. He is always the one that people go to when they have trouble with a scam, he really hates scammers and he is always willing to help. This is what I think may have gotten him into this trouble.

We have been told that this ban is a mistake and that he will be reinstated soon. Something like this happening to someone like Kingsfoil really makes it hard to feel good about the game.

VMK really needs to research reports before they impose a ban like this on someone. I hope they understand how devastating this can be.......

I do a lot of trading just like him and I get comments about my inferno and about my stuff every day, that's just the way it is......

Arg!! I hate this about vmk! Why can't they investigate it before they ban?! WHY?!! It is not that difficult, come on. Why would you ban all these innocent people just so you can maybe get some of the bad ones? Come on staff! Stop it!!

Dragonlord11_7: I am asked to trade my inferno, tom 8/9 and quite a bit of my rare for free pink doors, free snow rugs, free everest thrones, free yeti couches various narnia and various buyables at least, a minimum of a hundred times a day. Which requests i deny since i am able to play said games and get my own.

Disneylandtink: Devastating? I bought the quest engine for 20,000 credits.
It took me 2 days to replace those credits. And now I have a white elephant that will remain unused. An objet d'art

I trade for things i like with things i dont. I have traded several room codes here as well as other rares and beta. If the trade requires several trade windows. Such as inferno, tom 8/9, or a common item such as ice cube chairs. I complete my trades. Ask anyone one here or on any of the other boards.

It is a simple process. I look for something I am interested in. I look at their wish list. I complete that wish list. We exchange the items on their wish list for the items i am interested in. Trade is agreed upon by both parties. Trade takes place. Accept, accept, accept. Trade complete. Thank you, your welcome.

But i end up getting banned for refusing to trade things like: a super rare beta purple pirate treasure chest for a green super hero suit.

Or the new 50th quest lamp and directors chair for half a space suit and a few yeti couches or beta green pirate throne for 1 pink door, a fountain, skeleton at the helm and 2 brown treasure chests?

Edit: Sassymom, at least they have not taken my sense of humour away from me yet, and i use the word yet lightly since that is surely the very next thing to be taken away from me. My opening post while had i hoped it to be shone in a humerous light, they are indeed the facts. I traded with no one that day. All i did was a credit run.

This is really getting out of hand. It seems like they're just going around with a blindfold on and randomly picking a name from a list of all players and banning them.

I know that this is not what's happening, but seriously! They really need to check out everything before they impose that kind of ban on people.

I think I'm defintely going to decline all invitations to trade unless I know them from now on.

I am really sorry this happened to you. I am really getting sick and tired of the banning of people for no reason nor explaination. I know that you have a great collection of VMK items and I am sure it had to be one person who was sour after a trade was not made in their favor. I wrote to VMK on behalf of you to request that they make an effort to review the facts, trade logs, communications and rethink their position. There have been too many of these bannings without no judge nor jury - just a sour person's decision to report and state the word "scammed" and boom you are banned. Lets hope the blackhole responds.

in case this is all a joke i'm just telling all of you why i'm so angry, because people kept on getting banned because of just doing nothing i had stopped playing most games unless vs. disers i stopped getting daily credits, i locked myself in my room so and booted people who came in and bugged me and kept on trading and STILL i got banned!! so something like this must have happened to kingsfoil too since we BOTH took precautions to not get banned! IMAGINE I STOPPED GETTING DAILY CREDITS AND PLAYING PIRATE SO I WOULDNT GET BANNED AND STILL GOT BANNED!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS WAY OUT OF HAND!!!!!! i think all of us should send a mail about everyone who got banned for no reason EVERYDAY! what do you say kingsfoil? ready to get unbanned??

This just stinks. I posted my ideas for how to handle bans in Schnerk's (I hope I spelled that right) thread.

It's really simple. I have two kids. If DD (reporter) comes to me (VMK) and says DS (reportee) has done something to her, I don't ground DS for life (ban from VMK forever). I make both kids calm down (a time out similar to a short VMK ban) and then I ask each kid to tell me what happened (check the VMK logs for said incident). Most times I find that nothing worth getting worked up over happened so I tell the kids to go play (remove the short ban).

If I discover DD (the reporter) lied to me (made false report), DD gets punished (longer term ban) and DS (the reportee) gets to go play. If DS really did something to DD (truthful report), DS gets punished (longer term ban) and DD (the reporter) gets to go play. If they both did something warranting punishment, they both get punished (longer term ban).

In the rare case that I can't figure out what happened right away, maybe I have to talk to other kids who were present (carefully review the VMK logs), then both kids get their short punishment extended while I figure out what to do (slightly longer short term ban). Once I have figured out what happened, I punish the kids based on that.

VMK should follow a similar process.

Feel free to submit my ideas from this post or my other post to VMK. Clearly they need to define their process for banning people and I'm quite happy to get them started in the right direction.

Ok, this is getting uberly out of hand. What is going on! Everytime I get on the dis board I see a new thread about who is banned next. I'm afraid to get on due to a paranoid fear of being next. This is getting tiresome, waaaay too tiresome.

I got banned after visiting the the NPC's.
It was in the morning none of my friends were on.
I was heading to the pirate dock figureing,
i can make an easy 5000 credits or so
before they even come on later in the day.

So answer me this...
If i can easily make 10,000 to 15,000 credits a day sinking ships why would i even bother wasting my time to scam anyone. Not that i would.

Where are all the people I let piggy-back into my pirate games?
Ask around for someone that has played pirates with me. Someone that wins as consistently as I do, that takes hours, days, weeks, months of practice.
When would i have time to scam? Why would i even want to?
Ask anyone I have traded with. Who has recieved a bad room code from me?

I have to say Kings lets me piggy back on his Pirates games (I'm REALLY terrible at Pirates!) and when we trade he's always quick to tell me if I'm offering too much for something. It's unthinkable that he'd try to pull anything over on anyone!
