Hey! Was just now able to look on my dvcmember.com website. So confusing. Thought I would just come here and ask my friends.

We bought 100 points by resale through the timeshare store. We have an August use year. We are planning on going to Disney in October 08. We will need our 07 allotment and part of our 08 allotment. Do I need to bank my 07 points now to use then??? I saw something about only being able to bank a percentage. Do my points expire one year after my I get them (unless I bank them)?

Please, I need someone to explain this in terms that even I can understand.

TIA,
Madjacksmom

Since you have an August use year, an October 2008 vacation will fall within your 2008 use year.

If you want to use 2007 use year points for tha vacation, you must bank them first. You have until March 31, 2008 to bank your 2007 points.

If you want to make your reservation before the end of March (I would reommend that you make the reservation when the 11 month window opens if you are sure of your dates sand staying at your home resort), then you must bank the 2007 points before you make the resevation. You can ask the CM to bank the 2007 points just before you make the reservation.

The banked points from 2007 will then be good for vacations that occur between 8/1/2008 and 7/31/2009. If you do not use them befroe 7/31/2009, they expire and will be lost.

In general, your points are good for one year - August 1 through July 31 of the following year. If you do not use them or bank them they expire. You have until March 31 to bank your points.

You can only bank the same points once and once banked, they cannot be returned to the original use year.
