Banking Points for 2007 UY

Does this make any sense. When I called MS to see if my 22 pts from 8/21 ressie that I cancelled would expire if not banked by April ( as they are Sept07 UY) she told me that because of the change in the banking, they were going to extend the banking for people with pts in their 07 UY. So in other words I will have additional time to bank these points. Does that sound correct?

Extend it for how long?

You have 8 months from the start of your UY to bank points which means that you have until the last day in April to bank your points, given your September UY.

That is what I thought too, but she said for people who are still in their 07 UY when the change in banking rules began, will get extended time to bank their points. I did not ask her when I would need to bank them by ( that would have helped wouldn't it have?) because I was using all of them to book new reservation.

I think that change came about on Jan 1st. If I am correct then EVERYONE was in their 07 use year when the change was made. I would follow the rule of 8 to be on the safe side. MS reps have been known to make mistakes.
