Banking Changes Effective '08?

Okay, I have the bandaids ready. So, if you Vets are gonna get me, I'm prepared.

Simple question. Do the new rules for banking begin when you receive your points in '08? Meaning, the points I receive with my new membership(if I ever get to close) will still be under the old banking rules? I am assuming nothing changes until '08 points are received.

The announcement was that the change would go into effect 1/1/08. What they failed to say is whether that means it begins with 2008 use years or also applies to 2007 use years that run into 2008 before they end. Some have called MS who say they think it applies to 2007 use years but MS personnel have not actually received a clarification either, which is not likely to come until we receive offical notification sometime in October.
