Hi everyone.
Long-time-lurker, first-time-poster.
We recently bought a DVC contract at VGF with a march UY.
Our first visit as members will be in November.
We are already considering an add-on to our existing plan and were wondering whether we will have to use the 2015 points given the fact that we will be past our banking deadline or will DVC allow us to bank the 2015 points?

We are thinking of adding on 50 points but are unsure if we will be able to afford it this November So we were debating whether we should add 25 this trip and 25 next trip. Is there a good reason why we want to buy all 50 at once? Is there a deterrant to splitting up the purchase?

If you are buying direct, have it put into the sales contract that the points will automatically be banked into next UY. I bet to get the sale your assigned agent will include the condition.
One bad item about splitting your buy into 2 25 point contracts, you will have to pay for 2 separate closings.

When you add on retail DVC allows you to bank the current use year points even past the banking deadline. Just so you know some use years already having waiting lists for points at VGF so you may want to let you guide know your plans and the guide may be able to put you on a waiting list for points at a good point- by Nov I suspect anyone wanting VGF points direct will be on waiting lists.

I thought the closing costs were per point and not flat rate.
Although if I have to wait list this add-on I might as well purchase all 50 at once...

I think it is slightly more with disney if you split the contract in 2 b/c they charge you twice for title insurance and the recording fees-closing costs however are much less direct than resale-it was around $100 for 25 points and $150 for 50 when we looked at it a few months ago (so only about $50 more to split the contract in 2)-whereas it would be around $375-$400 for closing costs on each resale contract purchased....obviously the price per point is significantly lower resale though lol

When we bought the price per point was $165. It seems to have gone up to $170. Is there any chance they will sell us the add-on at the original price? If not I guess that I should factor the possible increase into my split calculation as well.

Thanks for all your help.
