Baltimore Orioles fans: You should be ashamed of yourselves

This thread is about Rafael Palmeiro and sports.

It is not about a retired football player's wild life off the field 10 years ago.

Excuse me, but the title of the thread, which you started BTW, is "Baltimore Orioles fan: You should be ashamed of yourselves".

I don't see any Rafael Palmeiro in there.

And this was your first post:

"Giving Palmeiro two standing ovations and chanting "We Want Raffy!"

Sends a great message to the kids. Do steroids, lie about it big time, and become more popular with your fans!"

So you were pontificating about fans who reward bad behavior from sports figures.

This thread is also about hypocrisy and having Irvin in your sig while complaining about the fans in Baltimore is the height of hypocrisy.

To restate the obvious, this thread is about sports fans rewarding bad behavior and hypocrisy............. and you're guilty of both.

Well if you want to know what I was thinking when I started this thread, it was about what happens on the field.

I thought fans should be ashamed for cheering for someone who cheated on the field.

Again, if Raffy cheated on his wife or did coke, I wouldn't care. And BTW Irvin was never found guilty on any charges, and was never even charged with possession of coke. All he was guilty of was being in a room with it, big deal.

You really don't get it, so in the interest of keeping you from further embarassment, let's just end this here.

Btw, Joe, keep up with the mantra "I don't care what someone does in their private life" and you may be forced to return your Young Republican membership card and decoder ring.

Sorry, I don't know where you are receiving your info. from, but you are wrong. He may have received applause from "some" of the fans, but 80% of them were booing him. Last night was his first game back and fans were less than receptive.

Perhaps you should be upset with baseball for allowing steroid use to be so prevelant among its players for the last 20 yrs and looking the other way instead of taking action then? Do you really think no one knew about it for all this time?

Oh, forgot to add: baseball itself has compromised the integrity of the sport.

I didn't care that Clinton cheated on his wife, I don't care if Bush was a cokehead. Neither matters one iota to me.

Call it whatever you want to. I care what Bush or Clinton does in their job as President. I care what Michael Irvin or Palmeiro does in their job as pro athletes.
