Baltimore BOT-Fest

Holy cow, Judy......that's not merely fast, that's "lightspeed'! You are doing amazing with your training. That marathon in January is going to be a piece of cake!

Jeanne, my dear...when I'm done with 26.2 miles.....forget a piece of cake. Bring me the whole darn thing!!! :woohoo:

WHERE ARE ALL THE OTHER BOTS???? Including frog-toed JODI is apprently isn't speaking to me anymore!! I can't understand why.

Yeah... ask Bruce!! If not, Jodi can relay the information. If you look far enough back on this thread, you might be able to see a description. Not sure if its on this one or the previous BOT Thread that was closed down due to it's size by the Admin. Cops. :rolleyes1

I got out for a run yesterday evening after work and after I mowed and trimmed our lawn, watered plants, etc.

Miles: 6.0
Time: 53:20
Pace: 8:53
Splits: 8:50, 9:13, 8:49, 8:42, 8:40, and 9:06

I am WAY not meeting my training plan requirements, but I think I'll be good to go for the Philadelphia Rock & Roll Half on 9/19. I have some work to do to get ready for MCM. :sad2: :rolleyes1

I am traveling to Pittsburgh this weekend for a family reunion on Sunday. Next weekend, we are traveling back to Pittsburgh for my younger sister's wedding. Lots of miles on the Keener Family covered wagon. :lmao:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JODI!!!! :bday:party: Have a great day!!!

Hey BOTs!!

Happy Birthday JODI!!!!!!

I've been following everyone on FB but struggling to check in here regularly. I've been dealing with an issue over the past 2 weeks that has knocked me off track. A close friend and my #1 engineer was diagnosed with a brain tumor last week. It's hard to describe the whole thing because it has hit me hard on a personal and business level. You can't really plan for these things.

On a running front...found time to run 3 5-mile runs this week. Ran today in a complete downpour which was nice.

A banker I met last week got me thinking of my first race outside of the 48 states...Medio Marathon San Blas in Puerto Rico. http://www.maratonsanblas.com/ingles/index.html The race is in February and is supposedly one big party for the locals. If I don't run it in 2011 it's a guarantee for 2012. Despite the fact that my dad is from P.R. I have never been there. Makes sense to tie the first trip into a race. Who's in?

Lou

Oh Lou.....I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I can't imagine. How much worse could it possible be than to have a tumor in your brain??? OMG. I will pray for a miracle for him.

Lou: So sorry about your friend.

Well, I booked our hotel: Cyrstal City Embassy Suites. It was a little pricey, but is within walking distance of the start, which is what my daughter preferred. Now I just need to find out how I can rendevous with all the other Scream-teamers

Hi guys,

Lou, sorry to hear about your friend. I am hearing those stories every couple of weeks now. So sad.

Jodi, so are in Thelma or Louise? Where exactly are you today?

Mike, Kathy is posting some cool pictures on facebook. Looks like you all are having a grand time.

Howard, yes, your covered wagon has seen most of the east coast the last few months, hasn't it. I am living vicariously through your travels.

Jen, did you get some pics of the turkeys?

Judy, I enjoy your sense of humor. Funny and quirky! It's all good!

Well folks, I need to decide what to do with my MCM bib. I won't be "running" the marathon, but if someone wants to walk/run it with me, I may try and throw a training plan together in these last 8 weeks. (Basically, that means a marathon partner who wants to do a LOT more walking than running.) If not, I will try and sell the bib on facebook. I guess I better go look on the official MCM site to see when the deadline is to do such things.

Give me a few days to see if the injection I got last week works. It it's a miracle cure, I still hope to run MCM. If it doesn't work at all, I'm going to sell my bib (deadline is 9/30, I think). If it works a little, I'm willing to walk/run it with you. I'm going out tonight for my first post-procedure walk, and then I'm cleared to try running mid-week. I have a feeling I'll know within the first few steps if it's going to happen or not. Then I'm in the same boat you are - how much training can I do in 10 weeks? :scared1:

Hi to all the BOTS here and those BOTS that are not!

Howard, yes, your covered wagon has seen most of the east coast the last few months, hasn't it. I am living vicariously through your travels.

Colleen~ I am still not quite finished with all of the traveling. I am driving out to Pittsburgh again this weekend for my sister Amanda's wedding on Saturday. On SUnday we're going into Pittsburgh to look at Pitt, Carnegie Mellon and Duquesne University with Andrew, then driving home.

I haven't been feeling too well lately (neck and shoulder pain) and it was an easy excuse not to run. However, after seeing my Doc and getting an adjustment and some meds prescribed, I am doing much better. I decided to do a LR (my first run in a week):

Miles: 10.0
Time: 1:35:02
Pace: 9:30
Splits: 9:59, 10:19, 9:18, 9:06, 8:41, 9:41, 9:17, 9:16, 9:33, and 9:50.

I haven't run double digits since the Fairfield Half on June 27.

Have a great Thursday, Friday and weekend!

Hey BOTS!!

How's it going over here? I'm too lazy to comment on anyones goings on, sorry.:) Except for Lou. Dude, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, that shi* is just devastating. Hope he's OK.

Marathon? What Marathon? Oh, THAT marathon? I dunno, guys, it's not looking too good. :scared1:

Since there's not really enough time for any of us to get into any kind of marathon shape...maybe Cindy and Matt can just brew up another batch of stout! We can find a shady spot too sit, drink, and laugh at all the fools running by.

I'd fly down for that!! The running thing?? Not so sure. And Mindy brewed the Octoberfest stuff, douche. Bruce & I brewed the stout! Get your lushes right! ;)

Hey BOTs!

Real quick, got back from a mini-vaca in NYC last night (sans kids). My parents took the kids for the weekend. Nicole and I took a nice bike tour through NYC on Saturday. Tour went from Manhattan (17th St & 3rd Ave) to Brooklyn and back. The whole trip took 7 hrs and totaled 15-20 miles (not exactly sure). Rode over 2 bridges, stopped for beer at the Brooklyn Brewery, saw lots of cool sites, and had a good time. Biking in NYC was a lot safer then I thought. It's more dangerous riding a bike at home. I'd advise anyone to try the trip (fall would be great). I actually think I will try biking in other cities now that I have done this trip.

Lou, that sounds like a lot of fun!

I would be interested in the company you used too!

That's the bike tour company. It really was a cool experience. The groups are like 10-12 people with 2 guides (1 in front and 1 in back). The guide in front did the talking and the guy in back makes sure everyone stays together and watches the bikes when you stop. They have all kinds of tours to different NYC sites. You can't go wrong with the ones that stop at a brewery.
