I may only be a lurking BOT, but add me to the list of those doing MCM. Just bit the bullet and signed up. I said I wasn't doing a full this year, but somehow I hit submit anyway.

Jackie, I just read this, thought about signing up for MCM, then I went to the kitchen to pour myself a cup of coffee...of course, I chose my Philadelphia marathon mug, it slipped...........and broke on the floor. Now, this is the second time this has happened, I dropped my pink Disney 2010 marathon mug about a month ago. At the time, I thought it was the marathon gods karma, so I let it go, but today my Philadelphia mug. Anyway, just trying to figure out what this means. Sign up or retire??

I think that is a sign that you should run the MCM and buy 2 mugs this time.

I'm with Matt. Buy 2. But definitely sign up, and soon. As of last night there were only 6000 still available.

I'm still trying to figure out the significance of the Philly mug breaking though - Philly was my backup race if I didn't get into MCM???

Colleen - I agree with Matt and Jackie - it's a sign that you need to replenish your marathon mug collection by running more marathons!

Decisions, decisions, is there also a coincidence that the MCM opened registrations on April 7th which is my birthday, and this is the MCM 35th anniversary and I turned 35 on April 7th??

That's a good one "I turned 35 on April 7th" yeah, 15 years ago. . I dunno if I should sign up for this race or not. There are so many near me that I want to do this year...New Hampshire marathon, Maine marathon, etc.

Colleen: I think the mug thing is a sign you need to sign up for more races. It's fate. I just melted my 2010 Marathon water bottle-- who knew they couldn't go in the dishwasher

I guess this means you need to run Philly again. Make sure to sign up early!

Got in 4 decent miles today. It was chilly (compared to the last 2 days) and drizzling which helped keep the pollen down. It was my best run in a while. I ran 2 of the miles at sub 7:00 mpm pace and then jogged the rest of the time to finish at 7:59 mpm total. I'm still way off pace from where I was this time last year. Oh well.

I've been AWOL the past week but I'll try to read back to see what's happening.
