Hello Bots! Sorry I haven't been posting much. I haven't actually been running much either. I hurt my knee, and I'm not exactly sure how I hurt it or what is going on.
About 2 weeks ago I was running and my right knee started to feel tight to the outside and below the kneecap. It felt like it wasn't happy bending very much, so I cut a run short and headed home. I iced it and it felt ok. I ran on the treadmill the next day and it was tight at first, then it loosened up and felt fine. The next day I ran 10 miles in the snow and it felt really good after the first mile or so. Later that day, though, it hurt really bad and I could hardly walk.
Since then, I haven't been able to run at all and if I don't move my knee much for an extended period of time, it gets all tight and hurts pretty bad. Walking is mostly ok, but sometimes even that hurts. The worst thing seems to be driving. After driving for a long time my knee is really stiff.
Anyway, I think I actually need to see a doctor about this one. The tobacco road marathon is in 1 month, but I don't see how I can run that since I haven't trained much and I can barely walk. I tried using the elliptical this weekend, but I only lasted 2 minutes before I stopped. Hmmm.
Any thoughts as to what is going on with my stupid knee? It isn't a sharp pain, it is mostly a dull tightness. Like something is under my kneecap or like the ligaments are messed up.
