Ballroom Ceremony Location?

I know that the "rain-out" location for many of the outdoor resort ceremony locations is a ballroom, but does Disney allow you to intentionally plan your ceremony in one of the ballroom venues? :confused3

I've really fallen for the high ceilings and decor of the boardwalk ballrooms, and I think with some lighting touches and a little decor, it could be a fantastic ceremony location! The Nutcracker ballroom at the contemporary is lovely as well...

I'm thinking along the lines of:
Ceremony in Promenade Ballroom--likely only in one of the sections.
Cocktail Hour/Pre-reception in the St. James Room & Patio.
Reception back in the Promenade.

Still tossing around SBP and ADH; we have our site visit next month and I want to know if I should even ask about the Ballroom Ceremony option.

Avoiding that $2000 site fee would give me a lot more $$$ to play with!:rotfl:

I'm sure others will chime in here - but I am pretty sure you can plan your day in one of the ballrooms.

Please do not rule out ADH. We had our ceremony in Epcot and our reception in ADH. This November will be our 5 Year Anniversary. While ballrooms are lovely - ADH is very unique to WDW. Also, every time we go to Disney - we visit ADH - and remember our reception.

Here are a few photos from our day.

How many people did you have attending your wedding? We are having around 40 and our sales rep seems worried the ADH space will be too large for our group.

I'm withholding judgment until I see it for myself in June. :-)

We had 50 people at our wedding. We used the upstairs for cocktail hour and then the downstairs for the reception.

We had 5 tables of 10 and then a sweetheart table for my DH and myself.

It might seem a bit large for 40 but definately go and check it out. You could do 5 tables of 8 - so that would take up some of the floor space. The dj booth is right next to the dancefloor - so that takes up some space also.
